Sharing a tour of our simple + cozy farmhouse christmas living room

Do you have any favourite go-to colours to decorate your home for the holidays with? I’ve kept things pretty neutral around here the last few years, working with creams and greys – it fills our home with a bit of a snowy, winter feel, but I keep things feeling warm by bringing in all the rich + cozy textures I can get my hands on. I’ve always loved the coziness + simplicity of this neutral holiday look.

This year, I decided to switch things up a bit in our living room and kitchen, bringing in some rich pops of green and a classic mix of plaids.
Though it’s certainly not a bold change by any means, it does bring a touch of nostalgia to the space.
The plaid even found its way onto our front porch…

The rest of our holiday decor remained more neutral as I stuck to the creams and greys that I’ve always loved.

Including our back family room, which has always felt coziest filled with all the warm + cozy textures I can get my hands on to curl up with in front of a crackling fire.

Our family room has always been the space that we gather together as a family at the end of the day. Whether it’s board games around the coffee table, piano practice before bed or snuggling in for a movie night, this is the space that always feels coziest of all in our home simply because it’s where we all come together each evening.

I didn’t really add much in terms of holiday decor into this space this year, choosing instead to stick to our goals to find more joy in the simple things this year (though I do have dreams of a second Christmas tree in here one day!). But, even without all the bells and whistles of the holidays so to speak, this cozy family room is still our favourite place to curl up together each evening.
