With a few touches of traditional greenery and just a hint of plaid, this cozy farmhouse Christmas porch was so simple to decorate and feels so warm + welcoming for the holidays!
Happy weekend my friends!
It’s time again for another instalment of our cozy living series. I always look forward to seeing all of the cozy inspiration everyone has to share each month – you can find even more cozy living ideas at the end of this post.
There’s really no cozier time of year than the holiday season, is there?
All those soft textures, the nostalgic decor and my favourite part, the twinkling lights – you just can’t help but feel warm + cozy this time of year.
Our first snowflakes of the season fell just a few days after Halloween, and that was all the reason I needed to dig out all those boxes of holiday decor.
With each change in season, the first space I always switch out my decor is our bedroom (which I just so happened to share on the blog earlier this week – you can check out our farmhouse Christmas bedroom here).
But my favourite space, the one I always love to decorate more than anything else is our porch. Especially for the holidays!
There’s just something so warm + welcoming about a cozy porch space all decked out in twinkling lights, all sorts of greenery and just a hint of traditional plaid.
Not only is an inviting welcome to guests, but walking up the front drive to a cozy Christmas porch is such a warm welcome home for us too.
Though the decor is quite simple and not at all extravagant or showy, I think the uncluttered look just adds to the charm of it all.
Some beautiful lit garlands draped around the door with a simple wreath to match are such an easy way to bring a bit of a traditional Christmas feel to the space. These gorgeous garlands are by far my favourite artificial garland I’ve ever owned and I especially love the timer for the battery operated lights!
Some pops of red and traditional plaids bring a nostalgic feel to it all.
And I’ve always loved the look of a lovely wreath hanging in each window!
Of course, it feels coziest of all when it’s all lit up at night…
Nothing is more nostalgic this time of year than a farmhouse porch all decked out for the holidays! It’s truly the most cozy and welcoming space in our home!

I agree, super pretty at night!
Thank you so, so much Heather!
Your porch is so festive! I love that wood tree and how it ties into your shutters!
Thanks so much Doreen!
Love your porch, Kristi! At first the plaid caught my eye – then I saw the bells on the window. But what I love most is the night time shots. Thanks so much for including those!! Looks so cozy and wonderful.
Thank you so, so much Jennifer!
kristi, im with you on. i love to decorate my front porch more then most other rooms in my house. I figure it’s the first thing that I see when I drive up and I always want to be happy when I look at it coming down the driveway. Look at all that snow!!
You’re so right Laura – it always puts a smile on my face when I pull up our driveway! Thanks so much!
Your front porch is beautiful! So cozy. Wish we had snow here. Fingers crossed we’ll have some for Christmas!
Thanks so much Danielle! Sending snowy vibes your way my friend!
I always love your sweet cozy porch, especially around this time of the year! I love the plaid, so welcoming. Thanks for sharing with us. 🙂
Awww, well thank you so, so much my friend!
I agree the porch is magical at night, there’s nothing better than twinkling lights and simple Christmas decor.
Thanks so much Dawn! I love how warm + welcoming it feels all lit up!
Hi Kristi! I love your cozy Christmas porch! I love all the greenery and neutral tones. Everything looks very welcoming and inviting. So happy to be hopping with you!
Thanks so much Michelle!
Your porch is so cozy! That bench is the cutest thing I have ever seen! And I’m so jealous that you have snow to go with it! Send some my way! 😉
Thank you so, so much Nicole! We’ve had snow since just after Halloween (which is pretty typical for us). Hoping we see even more as Christmas rolls in. Happy holidays my friend!
I remember the porch looking fantastic last year, but it looks even better this year! I love all the coziness from the plaid pillows and all the greenery.
Thanks so much Emily! I’m definitely digging the plaid this year too!
I love it ????. May I ask what the name of the paint on your door is?? Thank you ????
Thank you Loretta! The paint colour is from Home Hardware’s Beauti-Tone line and is called Black Licorice. I also really love Onyx from Benjamin Moore too.
Love the look! What is the color of your front door? We have a similar color house and are looking to paint our front door a gray color and I really like the color of your door.
Thanks so much Alison! Our door colour is Onyx from Benjamin Moore – it’s nearly black, but I love that it doesn’t look too stark. Hope this helps!
