sharing our simple + cozy farmhouse Christmas table
For us, the holiday season this year has truly been about finding more enjoyment through simplicity and this cozy tablescape certainly embodies that.
Though I enjoy the beautifully styled decor I see shared on Instagram and I’m still pinning all the elaborate ideas on Pinterest, I’ve happily embraced the philosophy of less is more this year for our own home.
The Christmas season is my very favourite time of year, but through the last few years I’ve noticed myself getting caught up in and even overwhelmed by all the things I felt I had to do to make the most of our holiday season. As my expectations grew, I found the joy of the season fading. So this year, instead of elaborate perfection, I’m striving for more simple + attainable, leaving us with more room to enjoy the simple things.
And, of course more room for time with family and friends!
And I’ll tell you, after spending the last year renovating our entire main floor – enduring the slow cooker and microwave meals when we found ourselves without a kitchen, the many picnics around the coffee table when our dining space was torn apart, the plywood floors, missing ceilings, and just the general chaos that came with it all, I can’t tell you how much we’ve been looking forward to finally having the chance to reap the rewards of all that hard work! Afterall, the whole point of it all was to create a warm + welcoming home, with cozy spaces that we can share with our family and friends!
So, though simple, this year’s farmhouse Christmas tablescape is a true reflection of what matters most this time of year – making happy memories with our friends and family.
I cannot wait to see our family gathered around this cozy table for our Christmas Eve dinner this year!

Simple and sweet with a beautiful touch of elegance. I especially like the addition of the pine needles and pine cone tied to the back of each chair. It’s little touches like that which make a big impact to the entire tablescape and room ~ love it! Thank you for sharing ~ Merry Christmas!
Thank you so, so much Melinda! Happy holidays my friend!
This is lovely! I think your family is going to enjoy sitting there for the holidays. They’ll feel as if they are at a super nice restaurant. Well, except the clean up crew. That’s not the same. :/ Merry Christmas!
Hahaha! Isn’t that the truth! Thank you so, so much Cindy! Wishing the Merriest Christmas my friend!
Kristi, this is stunning! And I love your message of simplicity this year. I am craving simplicity too.
Thanks so much Nicole! It seems we’re all looking for a little more simplicity this time of year.
I love simple things because then I know I can do them, lol!! Your tablescape is beautiful and love the pine needles and pine cones on the backs of the chairs!
Thank you so, so much Malinda! I feel the same way – simple feels much more attainable, especially at this busy time of year. Happy holidays!
Kristi – this looks like a winter wonderland! I love that you decorated the chairs and that table runner is so cozy! Love it all! Pinning!
Thank you so, so much Lindsay!
Very pretty! I love all the metallic touches. Like Lindsay said, it looks like a winter wonderland! So happy to be hopping with you!
Thanks so much Michelle! Merry Christmas my friend!
I’m just in love with that table runner and all of the shiny/textures in neutrals on the table. The pine combs on the backs of the chairs are a nice touch. I love this space! So cozy! I def. need to think of how to simplify things next Christmas. I’m getting the feeling you were, just so much to do that I’m not enjoying it as much as I’d like!

Your tablescape looks lovely Kristi! Really looking forward to dinner on Christmas Eve. Also, those mercury glass candle sticks are so perfect in your house! I saw them last year and ended up buying two sets for my place haha.
Thanks so much Emily! I just love those candlesticks, they’re such a classic timeless style, I can picture myself putting them out for years to come!
