My favourite reads from the week
Well my friends, the big news around here this week (and most of province really) is the extreme cold we’ve had to endure, all week long. I thought last week was a cold one with temperatures dropping below -30℃, but I should have known that wasn’t going to be the worst of it this Winter. We’ve been under an “extreme cold warning” all week here, with our daytime highs below -40℃ (with the wind chill), and our lows at night dropping well below -50℃ (with the wind). Vehicles won’t start, buses have been cancelled, and nobody wants to have to leave the house – it’s all anyone around here can talk about this week.
All that extra time inside the house gave us a ton of extra time to work on our latest reno project at least. We’ve made some progress on the panelling around Carson’s new bedroom this week and, though we’ve still got a ways to go yet, it’s easy to see the character this vertical shiplap will bring to this space.
I’m hoping we can get the rest of the panelling finished up, along with the trim along the top and around the closet this weekend so that I can get some paint over it all next week. I can’t wait to share the colour Carson picked out! You can keep an eye on our progress through my stories on Instagram this weekend if you’re curious.
