SHARING MY FAVOURITE READS FROM THE WEEK

Happy Friday friends! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week! Ours was full of ups and downs, but the highlight of course was finally finishing the deck! For the first time in more than a month, we’re heading into a weekend that won’t involve building a deck.
Of course, we’ve got plenty of other projects to work on still too – cabinets in the basement and an entire roof structure over our new hot tub pad (there’s a brand new pile of wood in the yard again for that!). I’m a-okay with that though – I’m SO excited to see the basement come together that I’m actually looking forward to putting together the warehouse of IKEA boxes we’ve collected downstairs. We don’t have much for furniture down there yet (thank goodness or we’d never have fit all of those IKEA boxes in there!), but we did manage to get the TV up and working, which means I can turn on some Hallmark Christmas movies to keep me company while I’m building this weekend.
Speaking of Christmas, our outdoor decorations weren’t the only ones to be pulled out of storage this week. I managed to get a few indoor ones put up as well. You’ll have to pop back to check out tomorrow’s cozy living post to see what I’ve been up to.
On the blog this week
It’s been full on Christmas mode on the blog this week as we gear up for the holiday season around here…
On Monday, I caught you up with all things Currently, including all of our back deck and basement progress. I also shared a little peek at our outdoor holiday decor this year, which we put up a bit early thanks to some unseasonably warm weather last weekend.

Tuesday, I shared 5 things you should have on hand BEFORE the holiday season rolls in (hint: stockings are not one of them, I just couldn’t resist this pretty photo from last year’s Christmas decor!).

Yesterday, I shared my favourite faux garlands and wreaths. I get asked about ours every year, so thought it was about time I put together a list for you.

And now, before I start building the truckload of IKEA furniture waiting for me down in the basement, here’s what I’ll be catching up with this weekend…
weekend reading

The instagram feed I can’t get enough of this week.
The official cure for the hiccups (seriously, I’ve been doing this since I was a kiddo and it works EVERY time!).
The three things you should spend money on to increase happiness.

These peanut butter hot chocolate bombs are at the top of my baking list this weekend.
I’d love to hear your take on this design trend.
How to decorate a Christmas tree, step-by-step.

Speaking of Christmas trees, I LOVED looking at through these photos of what Christmas trees have looked like over the past 100 years.
And finally, I’m hoping to finish up this book this weekend (you know, between all the furniture building that is). I’m really enjoying it and can’t wait to see how it all ties together in the end!
Wishing you the most lovely weekend my friends!
