Last week, I mentioned some ideas we’ve been thinking about for our study (you can take a peek at them here if you missed them). While it’s in a prime location just off of our main entryway, it’s definitely got it’s own special vibe to it that somehow feels like a cozy little hideaway. It’s one of our favourite spaces in this house and, because of the memories it evokes in us all, it definitely holds a special place in our hearts.
We don’t plan on changing a whole lot in this space really. The oak is staying and I’ve already painted out the walls in a beautiful black, brown, charcoal colour that changes a million times with the different light throughout the day. I’m still working on picking out some new carpet for the floors and tile for the fireplace surround, but in the mean time, I thought I’d start chipping away at some of the furniture and decor so we can get started on ordering all the things.
Today, I’m shopping for a new wall lamp for this little desk nook. I use this little light every day as I sip my morning coffee and I’d love something that fits the space a little better. I think the wall light needs to be just a little lower in this space and I’d love to see something that takes up bit more vertical space (and maybe sticks out a touch less) on that side wall. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far…
- Leda Modern Brass Swing Arm Wall Sconce
- Wilde Polished Brass Task Wall Sconce
- Zinnia Modern Polished Brass Wall Sconce
- Piffle Double Blackened Brass Wall Sconce
- Aldus Modern Black and Brass Articulating Wall Sconce
- Trace Double Wall Sconce
- Pogo Brass and Cane Wall Sconce
- Dale Adjustable Wall Light
- Giada Sconce
- Diggs Wall Sconce
- Sinclair Metal Arc Sconce
- Pierce Sconce
Which one is your favourite? I think I’m leaning between the Leda and the Diggs – I guess it depends how much visual space I want to this wall lamp to take up. Also, with so much brass in this space already, would you introduce a new metal – maybe a matte black or even a polished nickel? I’d love to hear your thoughts?
Wishing you such a lovely day!
