It’s been a painful, heartbreaking, maddening week.
My head + heart have been overwhelmed with all that I’ve been taking in this week.
But the truth is…
“It’s a privilege to educate yourself about racism instead of experiencing it.”
–Sir John
And though I’ve found myself at a loss for words or what I can do to help, I do know that I don’t want to be silent. The world cannot go on this way.
And so, I’ve found myself seeking out and leaning on others that do know what to say and how to help. I found this to be a helpful place to start.
And I found a few more ideas here.
These words have stuck with me…
“In a racist society, it is not enough to be non-racist. Now is the time to be vocally anti-racist”
-Angela Davis
This is my part to play in all of this. This is how I can be the change.
I will not just be complacently non-racist. I will be actively anti-racist. I will challenge those around me to be anti-racist. I will educate + raise my child to be anti-racist. I will not stand quietly while the world wakes up to the racism that still exists around us, but instead be a part of the change that this world needs to see.
On my quest to soak it all in this week, I’ve come across so many heart-breaking stories, so many voices standing together, so many powerful words shared. I wanted to leave y’all with just one last message that really resonated with me this week (be sure to visit this link and read through all of the slides to take it all in).

And now, here’s what I’ll be catching up with this weekend…
