SHARING MY FAVOURITE READS FROM THE WEEK JUST IN TIME FOR THE WEEKEND.

Hands up if this week has been longest year of your life!
The truth is, it’s a scary time in our world right now. Everything feels uncertain and the fear of it all can certainly feel a little overwhelming at times. But, like the rest of the world, we’re right here, hunkered down at home, doing our part to curb the spread of this dangerous virus. And I’ve got to say, we’re more than happy to do it. Sure, we miss visiting with friends, or running out to grab a treat or stock up on groceries whenever we feel like it. But, I can’t help but feel lucky that if we have to go through this, we’re doing it in a time with so many fun ways to stay busy (Disney+, Netflix, an entire world wide web to explore), the ability to order nearly anything online and have it delivered right to our door (books, games, all the supplies to learn a few new hobbies), the fact that we have such easy access to so much information about what exactly is going on in the world and what we can do to help, and best of all, the ability to so easy connect with family, friends, and even teachers through so many different means. Honestly, for me, staying home with my family feels like the easy part – it’s the fear of what this could mean for so many (including our own family) that I find most difficult to sit with right now.
I’ve found it helpful to keep myself busy, making the most of this extra time at home – learning a few new hobbies that I’ve always wanted to try my hand at, spending some extra time in the kitchen, curling up on the sofa with a book, playing board games or working on a puzzle with my family and even venturing outdoors to breathe in some fresh air and sunshine.

And so, I’m going to continue to do my very best to find some balance between all that chaos + fear with some calm + light. Today, instead of starting my day seeking out the latest news headlines, I’m going to let myself enjoy my coffee while I catch you up with a few of my favourite reads this week first…
WEEKEND READING
Armed with a few new supplies (see what I ordered up here), Carson and I have been working our way through all these beginner watercolour lessons from my talented friend Lucy.

Any one else baking up all the things lately? Baking with C has been another great way to make the most of this extra time at home. We’ve been slowly working our way through a few of these favourite classics.
With everything going on in the world right now, I absolutely loved reading through these ways that people are making life beautiful.
Obsessed with every inch of this gorgeous kitchen transformation!

These 10 podcasts have been streaming non-stop around our house the last few days.
I’ve always wanted to learn to crochet. These pretty dishcloths seem like a perfect place to start.

And I’m really going to try to finish up this book! Who knew I’d find so many other ways to fill these extra hours at home?!
Wishing you the most lovely weekend my friends!
