This simple farmhouse style painted book set is the perfect addition to any shelf, table or mantel!
Okay, so not only do I LOVE reading books…
But, old books are one of my very favourite things to craft with too.
Whether all cut up or just stacked tall, I love to work some old books into nearly every room in our home!
They truly make the most perfect decor!
I can’t wait to show you how I turned an ordinary stack of books I picked up at the thrift store into a lovely painted book set full of farmhouse charm…
I think this sweet painted book set looks so perfect sitting on top of this beautiful buffet cabinet in my new farmhouse style office space!

Thank you so, so much!!!
Such a good way to make thrift store books cute for home decor! I’m always looking for ones that have just the perfect color or vintage charm, but this is a great way to use books that don’t match at all!
Thanks Chelsea! I’ve been meaning to try this forever and just love how they turned out!!!
Beautiful ideas…. I’m afraid I couldn’t do it though…. old books are… friends…… and I couldn’t cut them up or paint them. 🙂 I do really like your idea of the swags you made…. maybe if a book was ruined as a regular book anyway….. 🙂
Awwww, I hear you. I definitely couldn’t make these changes to my own books, but I have no problem turning an old, discarded book into something I can love. Thanks so much!
Great tips, Kristi! Thanks for sharing at #HomeMatters!
