Sharing A Quick Update On All Things {Currently}…
Well hello May, I’m SO happy you’re finally here! After what felt like the longest Winter EVER, I couldn’t be more ready for the warm, sunny days of Spring and the promise of long Summer days that are sure to follow soon.

Sure, it did snow (A LOT) earlier this week, but rather than wallow in my disappointment, I decided to escape to the greenhouse instead. I braved the snowy hiways to travel out to my favourite greenhouse (we don’t have any local to our little town) and wandered the aisles for as long as I could (they’re only booking one hour shopping appointments to keep things safe with Covid restrictions). But, I came home with a car full of plants and tons of inspiration for what to do with them all. I cannot wait to get planting!
Things have been pretty quiet on the blog these last few weeks as I lean more into these days at home, which somehow feel busy and slow all at the same time. If you follow along on Instagram, you’ll know that we’ve been keeping busy with all sorts of adventures and project planning. I’ve already tackled a few small painting projects around the house and have a few more in the works that I can’t wait to share. We’re also planning some pretty major renovation projects that we’re hoping to knock out through the Summer months (more on those below). And, most importantly, we celebrated someone turning eight last month with a fun little scavenger hunt around town with all of our family and friends, sharing photos along the way to keep us all connected while still social distancing. It turned out to be such a fun and memorable day!
A few scenes from our month…

And now, here’s a quick little update of where we are currently…
CURRENTLY.
Reading: I just cracked The Great Alone a few days ago and I’m already over halfway through – wishing I never had to put this one down!
Writing: Honestly, I haven’t been doing much writing here lately – life somehow feels busier and slower all at the same time and I’ve been focusing less on blog stuff in favour of leaning into all the new around the house stuff.
Watching: I haven’t been watching much of anything lately thanks to the growing stack of books I can’t wait to read.
Needing: Thinking it’s time for an e-reader so I can start borrowing some books from the library.
Creating: We’ve been working away on finishing the basement these last couple of weeks (and by “we” I mean Brady). Super excited to create a cozy little hang out space downstairs, which will also allow us to shift some spaces around on our main floor AND upstairs. Can’t wait to tell you all about our plans!
Planning: A new garage build in our backyard, which has also led us to a renovation of the exterior finishings on our home as well (I mean it has to match, right?!). Though replacing our old cedar siding has been on our minds for a few years now and I’ve definitely got some ideas about where I’d like to take things (find all of my inspiration here), exterior design is totally new to me and very much out of my comfort zone. Knowing we’ll likely be living with these choices until we choose to leave this house many years down the road, it’s such a huge commitment and very daunting to have to get right the first time. Thank goodness my sister-in-law not only designs exteriors for a living, but she’s absolutely amazing at it to boot! She’s been an invaluable resource for us through this process – climbing into my head to create exactly what I wanted, but didn’t know how to do. If you’re planning some changes to your exterior and would like some help, I’d be happy to share her contact info.
Here’s a little peek at the beginnings of our plans.

Loving: Warm, sunny days! Bike rides, gardening, and reading on the porch – we’ve been soaking up every minute of sunshine we can!
Wearing: There’s nothing I love more through these warmer months than throwing on a simple sundress.
Coveting: I think this beautiful rug would bring so much warmth to our living room.
Working for me right now: Running again. I always lose the motivation to get moving through the cold Winter months, but once the temperatures start to warm up again, it always feels so good to get back out there.
What’s not: Working from home through quarantine – definitely not much “work” happening around here lately.
Anticipating: Planting my baskets, planters and garden.
I’d LOVE to hear where are you currently?
Wishing you SUCH a lovely day, tucked in safely at home my friends!
