An industrial style playroom space that’s as fun to look at as it is to play in!
Okay friends.
This playroom space has been A LONG TIME coming.
Like months + months + months.
In fact, it looks like we officially kicked things off in March. Though, I’m not sure how seven whole months have snuck their way through since then. I swear, if I didn’t have a record of it all on the blog, I would have guessed it was just a fraction of that.
For a while there, I moved along at a pretty good pace, making decent progress as I plowed through my design plans for the space.
And then Summer came and “real life” was put on hold for all things that were much more fun. Instead of renovating our home, we spent as much time as we could outside of it, enjoying the warm weather while it lasted.
But of course, Fall came all too quickly (as it always does) – Carson started Kindergarten and our warm, sunny days all but disappeared.
With the cooler days and earlier evenings, there’s always that shift back to inside the house once again, which meant that finishing up C’s playroom was back on the to-do list.
Luckily, we’d had a good head start with this rustic removable wallpaper from Walls Need Love, which brought a fun, industrial vibe into the space…
And of course, some much needed storage with these beautiful Grange Bookcases and the matching Grange TV Stand from The Brick to tame all that toy clutter.
I also wanted to create a comfy spot for C to curl up with a pile of books – this custom Designed2B love seat is the perfect spot to cozy up and Carson picked out this rustic Dodeca Accent Table to sit beside it.
Though Mom was most worried about all the toy storage, Carson was dead set on setting up a little work area all his own, complete with his own desk and lamp – after all, he is in Kindergarten now and is sure to have all sorts of homework to work on.
Carson picked out this North Avenue Desk from The Brick and I couldn’t have made a better choice myself. The industrial style fit his rustic playroom perfectly and it paired so perfectly with this metal + wood chair that I’d already chosen.
With a fun little hanging lamp, complete with chrome dipped light bulb) and some cute art and accessories, this little work space might just be my favourite corner in the space…
I’m so, so excited about how this space came together (even if it did take seven whole months to complete) and most importantly, Carson is over the moon about his new playroom space!
This adorable playroom will be a fun space for our little man to hang out for years to come!
