This portable homework station is the perfect way to keep all those school supplies organized and at the ready when your little one brings home that backpack full of homework..
Somehow we’re already halfway through October, can you believe it?
The after school activities are ramping up (hello hockey season!) and we’re falling into a good routine with school.
Though I’m a teacher (albeit a substitute), I have to say I’m a bit surprised at the amount of homework coming home already. Okay, maybe not so much “homework” per say as special days to take part in, not to mention all the shapes + letters + books + sharing to send in. I’ll tell ya, for just two little days of school each week, there’s certainly A LOT to remember and keep track of (even for this organized Mama).
Adding to all that, we’ve got piano homework each week (I’m talking worksheets on top of actual practice time).
I guess my point is, we definitely have our fair share of “homework”, even in Kindergarten.
We set up this cute little desk area in Carson’s new playroom space (will be sharing the full reveal soon)…
He picked out this inexpensive, industrial style desk himself and this rustic desk chair to match. And honestly, I couldn’t have done a better job myself!
Of course, his art supplies needed a little organizing, which is why we put together this practical and portable little homework station…
See how I put it all together in the video below:
This simple little homework station has been the perfect way to keep all of his supplies organized at his little desk, but I love that we can bring it downstairs to the kitchen table so he can work while I’m busy cooking dinner or something too.
Carson is loving having his own little desk area (if only we could all love sitting our desks as much!). I can’t wait to share the full reveal of his adorable industrial style playroom soon!

Oh my stars, l love that desk, his chair and that awesome container for all his school/art supplies, great idea. Will keep all of it so tidy and available, very accessible, perfect for your growing kindergartner.
Will you tell me please, where did you get the bison, deer art, they are wonderful? Is the size 16×20? Would love to have those, what kind of frame do they have?
So wonderful he has his own homework/art station, good training for when he get bigger and that sure happens so quickly.
He sure is a handsome young man, nice photo of you three.
Have wonderful Fall weekend
