Well my friends, it’s a cloudy, rainy, gloomy Friday here in the Kootenays. But, I’m totally okay with that. In fact, I’d even say I’m happy about it! We’ve had sun and warm temperatures for weeks now and to be honest, I was craving a rainy day to hole up in our house in front of the fire. It’s been one of those stay our pj’s, eat breakfast on the couch, cuddle under a blanket sort of mornings for Carson and I (though, to make up for it we’ll be heading to the swimming pool this afternoon!). Sometimes you just need a lazy morning like this, you know?
I was pretty happy that I had chosen to stay up late last night getting our Fall fireplace put together to share with y’all today because it meant that this morning, I got to just kick back and enjoy it all on this rainy day with my favorite little man!!!
It made me SO happy to finally have a mantel to decorate (read more about our DIY mantel here)!!! I filled it up with all sorts of fun treasures!
Those net wrapped bottles on the left were SUCH an easy DIY – stay tuned for that tutorial coming soon!!! And that beautiful pumpkin sitting right next to them was an awesome score from Target!
On the other side I added a simple lantern that I found at Michaels for 50% off – another fab score!
My absolute favorite part is the vintage window hanging right in the middle!
I added a simple DIY fall wreath using some leftover flowers from my shabby-chic pumpkins.
I also made that cute little felted acorn garland! You’ll have to check back tomorrow to see how I did it!
I added some huge, rustic lanterns to the hearth and filled them with LED candles that turn on with the press of a button from a handy remote! BRILLIANT, right?!
And who could miss those pretty little painted pumpkins?
I’m SO, SO happy with how it’s all come together! On this gloomy day, it was the perfect place to curl up in front of to keep warm!
Have you decked out your fireplace this Fall?
Don’t forget to check back tomorrow to see how I made that super cute felted acorn garland!
Wishing you SUCH a wonderful day!!!

It’s absolutely gorgeous! I love fireplaces, and had one all throughout my childhood. I’m just itching for the day when we finally move to the mountains and I get my very own fireplace. You’re so lucky to be able to enjoy it now=)
Awww, there’s really nothing as cozy as curling up in front of the fire, is there? Here’s hoping yours will make it back into your life again soon too!
