Hello! I cannot believe it’s already Thursday again! I swear I blink and another week has gone by!
In between catching up from our trip last weekend, hosting Thanksgiving dinner and packing for our upcoming weekend away, I’ve somehow managed to tackle just a few more quick Fall projects to share with y’all while I’m gone. After all, I couldn’t possibly abandon this crazy mission to share two full weeks of {all things Fall}! I’ve wondered at least 237,896 times what the heck I was thinking when I not only thought to add this to what were already sure to be two of our busiest weeks this Fall, but then I pledged it to the whole blogoshpere! But I’ve also smiled at least 237,897 times at how much I’ve been able to accomplish, how my projects have come together even better than I had imagined them and how cozy and welcoming my house feels now filled with {all things Fall}!
So … crazy? YEPPERS! But, worth it? ABSOLUTELY!
I couldn’t possibly be more thrilled with how our front porch and entryway have come together! And having gotten a few projects out of the way for our dining room like this burlap and lace table runner and my scrappy burlap and lace wreath, I’m finally moving on to the coziest part of all … our new fireplace mantel! I cannot wait to deck it out in all sorts of beautiful Fall swag! First up, these pretty painted pumpkins!
I picked up some super cute mini-pumpkins at the grocery store for just $.99 each. I didn’t bother snapping a photo because I was pretty sure that y’all have a pretty good idea of what they looked like.
These little guys went straight down to the garage for a coat of paint. If you follow along on Facebook or Instagram, you may have seen this late night sneak peek …
Some were silver (the very BEST silver spray paint out there I’m pretty sure), some gold and some a glittery gold with sparkles that sprayed right out of a can
(GENIUS, I know!).
And because they looked so pretty and shiny and sparkly already I left most of these pretty little pumpkins as is. BUT, I just couldn’t resist pulling out my favorite Country Chic chalk paint to test out another fun new colour! I shared another sneak peek on Facebook and Instagram when I couldn’t contain my delight with this gorgeous “Moon Dew” colour …
So, I painted a thin coat over one of my gold painted pumpkins being sure to let some of the gold from underneath shine through.
I couldn’t help but play around a bit with the “Simplicity White” too, adding it to the top half of my other gold painted pumpkin. With a quick spray of gold sparkles over the bottom half, I was in love with the way the white made those pretty sparkles stand out!
This was SUCH an inexpensive and simple project, but the pops of colour and sparkle really add a touch of glam to our Fall fireplace! I guess you’ll have to wait to see for yourself when I share the full reveal tomorrow!!!
