MY FAVOURITE READS FROM THE WEEK

Happy first Friday of December! Can you even believe Christmas is just three weeks away?! I’ve finished up most of my shopping, aside from a few small stocking stuffers for Carson and now I just need to get it all wrapped and ready for the big day. Usually Brady and I mix up a festive drink, park ourselves in front of a Christmas movie and hustle our way through the pile, wrapping every last gift by the time our movie is over. I’ve always got the best of intentions to have my wrapping done early, but each year, without fail, time gets away from me and I’m hustling to get it done the week before Christmas. Fingers crossed we can get it wrapped up a bit earlier this year!
Speaking of getting things wrapped up, we finally finished up our gazebo for the hot tub last week, just in time for our delivery day. We still have to finish the roof up with shingles in the spring, but at least it’ll keep the snow off the hot tub through the winter now. The hot tub arrived earlier this week and we’ve been enjoying it together every evening since! There’s nothing like a soak in the hot tub on a cold Winter’s night!
With the gazebo all finished up, we’ve had more time to start working on the last few projects down in the basement. Brady got all of the wet bar cabinets installed this week (aside from a few last pieces we’re still waiting on) and I am SO thrilled with how this little corner is coming together. We’ve also managed to get all of our new furniture put together and last weekend Carson and I emptied out his playroom and found a new home for each and every toy & game down in the basement (we’ve got some really fun plans for his old playroom that I can’t wait to share!). Now that we’ve got most of the IKEA boxes out of the way down here, I’m hoping we can finally start on that powder room – I can’t wait to see that wallpaper up! Keep on eye on my Instagram stories for sneak peeks of our progress.
ON THE BLOG THIS WEEK
My favourite nostalgic decor finds…

I shared this year’s vintage inspired Christmas tree, filled with mixed metals, mercury glass & a classic pearl bead garland…

I also took you on a tour of our simple + cozy Christmas decor….

And now, here’s what I’ll be catching up with this weekend…
weekend reading

I’m always drawn to a beautiful garland draped down a stairway and I love the adorable little stockings and mercury glass added to this one!
This take on the meaning behind Christmas ornaments really resonated with me.

Finding SO much inspiration in this beautiful tree!
And the simplicity of this cozy living room – SO warm + inviting!

I am loving the idea of a more traditional, homemade garland this year. How beautiful would these look on a bare tree, maybe with some simple ribbon bows tied on a few branches!
These might just be the most adorable Christmas cookies ever!

I really loved looking back at the evolution of this living room – it’s such a great reminder that no space is ever really “done” (they can’t all be Christmas posts).
And, I’ve been finding so much inspiration in this beautiful Insta-feed lately!

Finally, here’s what’s on my nightstand this week.
Wishing you the most lovely weekend!
