SHARING MY FAVOURITE READS FROM THE WEEK

Happy Friday my friends! I hope your week has been a great one!
It’s been a bit of a struggle balancing all the things with everyone back at school & work these last few weeks, but we seem to be hitting our stride this week (finally!). It’s definitely meant adjusting our expectations of how much we can accomplish in a day with so much more on our plates once again. For Brady + I, that’s meant parcelling off our time outside of work into smaller chunks for each of the thousand things we have on the go and a whole lot of prioritizing to work through it. For Carson, it’s mostly been about how much time he can spend playing outside with the neighbours now that his days are filled with school and his after-school activities are starting back up again.
Honestly, it’s taken some compromises all around, but I think we’re all getting the hang of it again.
Despite life getting busier the last few weeks, things are still moving right along in the basement (you can read more about our plans for the space here). The subfloors are in and we are working on installing all of the trim work this week. I’m hoping I can get it all painted out next week so that we’ll be ready for our carpet installation the week after (check out a sneak peek below). After months of hard work, it’s really exciting to have to finish line in sight!
And in other VERY exciting news – after years of thinking about, months of researching it and a very helpful discussion with a photographer friend (twice), I finally ordered myself a new camera! I know that upgrading to a full frame camera is going to be such a game changer and I cannot wait for it to arrive so I can start playing around with it!
ON THE BLOG THIS WEEK
I didn’t get around to posting anything this week, but I did put together a post all about painting our bulkhead for next week! Here’s a little sneak peek…

And now, before I get back to working on all the things, here’s what I’ll be catching up with this weekend…
WEEKEND READING

This DIY concrete table top is such a brilliant solution to breathe new life into a beautiful old table.
These cozy Fall steps stopping me in my tracks (the rest of the Fall home tour is just as cozy and inspiring!).

And don’t they look SO pretty all lit up at night!

Speaking of Fall decor, I love the softness of this simple Fall mantel decor.
What do you think of these 16 home decor trends? Do you think they’ll rule the rest of 2020?
And what about this colour trends palette for 2021? I’m loving the warmth of it all!

Loving these free hand lettered printable calendars for 2021 (there are 5 different layouts to choose from!).
And finally, it’s a little late in the year for a Beach Read, but that’s just what I’ll be curling up with this weekend.
Wishing you the most lovely weekend my friends!
