A quick little update & my favourite reads from the week.
Happy Friday friends! How was your week? After spending most of last week and weekend sick with the worst cold, I am happy to report that I’m finally feeling more myself this week, though I’m still moving a little slower through all the things. Anyone else struggle with jumping right back into real life after being sick?
Things on the blog were a little slower than normal this week too – I had big plans of sharing our new pot lights (and how surprisingly easy they were to install), but, while I did manage to get them all changed out (mostly because it only took me about 2 mins – these retro-fit lights really are SO simple to install), I never did get around to putting together a post about it. Hopefully, I can get it together to share it all next week instead. 😉
Part of the reason I found myself a bit short on time this week was due to the fact that I had to make an unplanned trip into the city to do some shopping for the Study. If you are subscribed to our Newsletter (you can sign up here if you’re not), you’ll know that I had a change of heart about some of the design elements in the Study. In this week’s Newsletter, I dove deep into the reasons why I’m not entirely convinced that the green tile I originally planned to use on our fireplace surround was the right way to go, but the gist of it is, rather than continuing down the wrong path simply because it’s what I had planned, I decided to right that wrong this week. So, I made the drive into the city to check out some other options and I’m so happy to say that I found some beautiful options that I’m super excited about. We’re still waiting on quotes and timelines, so we haven’t officially ordered anything yet, but I promise I’ll keep you posted when we do. In the mean time, the flat-lay above will give you an idea of the direction we’re looking in at least.
On the blog lately…

And now, here are my favourite reads from the week…
My favourite reads from the week…

Adding these Brown Butter Pumpkin Oatmeal Latte Cookies to my weekend baking list.
Feeling very inspired by all of these fun DIY Halloween decorations.
I’d have to agree with most of these phone call etiquette rules – one of my biggest pet peeves is when people talk on speakerphone out in public, it makes me feel like I have tip-toe around them in order to not interfere with their call. Do you have any phone etiquette pet peeves?
How to remove furniture indentations in carpet.
SO many fun ideas for a girls’ night.
One hundred percent on board with these five paint colour trends.
The Instagram account I just can’t get enough of this week.

Finally, here’s the book I’ve been curling up with this week.
Wishing you the most lovely weekend! Let me know if you have any fun plans in the comments below!
