Sharing my favourite reads from the week just in time for the weekend.

Happy Friday friends! I hope you’ve had another wonderful week of staying home. We kicked off our week with a long weekend here in Canada (here’s to enjoying your own south of the border this weekend!). May Long Weekend (sometimes referred to as Victoria Day) is a favourite around here, as it typically signifies the unofficial kick-off to all things Summer. You can imagine how exciting it is to welcome in some Summer sunshine after spending 6 long months buried under cold + snow. It’s usually the kick off to camping season, and our first taste of those Summer sports, hobbies and outdoor projects – basically anything + everything to get us outside.
Often the weather is unpredictable (May Long Weekend is notorious for rain and even snow storms), but this year we had nothing but blue skies and sunshine (okay, mostly anyway).

Carson and I managed to get the seeds into the garden (though the plants I picked up at the greenhouse will have to wait another week or two until the risk of frost has passed). I can’t tell you how excited I am to embark on another season of gardening – this will be my third season growing our own food and I’m excited to watch it take shape.
*If you find yourself wondering about this DIY garden, I’m hoping to get the tutorial up next week!*

These sunny mornings make it so much easier to get our for a morning run and/or a long bike ride down to the river or around the trails. We also wandered down to the golf course for the first time this week and, though we missed our usual dinner and drinks on the patio there after our round, it was a such a perfect way to enjoy some sunshine together all afternoon.

And now, while I enjoy a quiet coffee on the porch, here’s what I’ll be catching up with this weekend…
WEEKEND READING

I could wander this beautiful house tour all day long.
And, speaking of gorgeous home tours…

Ya’ll know my love for vintage – this is such a perfect (and inexpensive) way to work in some vintage inspired art pieces.
Some brilliant tips to help you shop for furniture like an interior designer (definitely learned a few things with this one!).

Do you have textured ceilings in your home? Here’s a great dive into whether you should scrape them down or plank over them – see how we planked over ours here.
Or, you could try this super simple DIY beadboard ceiling.

This might just be the dreamiest bathroom ever!
And because I can’t resist sharing something sweet… these homemade frosted brown sugar + cinnamon pop tarts look heavenly!

I just finished up this amazing book and cannot recommend it enough! Thinking I’ll pick up this one next (I always enjoy Hello Sunshine picks!).
Wishing you the most lovely weekend my friends!
