Happy Friday my friends! How was your week? We actually had a fairly slow week around here, which I have to say, was very welcome. Not only did it give us some much needed down time together as a family, but we also managed to work through a few little jobs around the house.
I mentioned last week that we’d finally landed on a final layout for our primary bedroom, bathroom, closet and Carson’s room (you can read more about how we finally decided on it all here). I spent a few evenings curled up on the couch learning how to draw my own floor plans and I’m SO excited to share what we’ve come up with (watch for it on the blog next week).
While I was busy working away on the computer, Brady got started on our list of quick + easy projects – more specifically, he got a few of our light switches changed out for a better, smarter version (these are the ones my techy brother recommended to us). We’ve only switched out a few so far, but already it’s been a huge game changer for us. We’ve programmed the outdoor switches to automatically turn our outdoor lights on as the sun sets and then turn them off again as it rises in the morning. We’ve also programmed out front foyer light to pop on as the sun sets as well. We’re so smitten already that we’ve ordered up switches for most of the other rooms in our home (main living areas & bedrooms for starters). I’m super excited to play around with light groupings and creating some “scenes” to automate things even more. We’re even thinking about adding smart blinds to our windows now too! Have you thought about making some of these tech changes around your house to help automate things? I’m curious to hear your thoughts on it all.

This might be my new favourite design book.

Here’s the Instagram account I just can’t get enough of this week.
Finally, here’s the book I can’t seem to put down this week (seriously, it’s SO good!).
