Hello, hello! Welcome to Week Three of the One Room Challenge! We’re officially halfway through our journey and I’m officially freaking out about all that’s left to do!!!
Despite my fears about how I can possibly get this all done in time, I couldn’t be more excited to be taking part in the One Room Challenge this Fall, designing a new Farmhouse Master Bedroom! #whatwasIthinking
I kicked things off in Week One with a ton of before photos showing our pathetic excuse for a master bedroom (not my favourite part of a room makeover, that’s for sure). Hopefully I redeemed myself, by sharing my Farmhouse Master Bedroom Design plans, which have me totally over-the-moon excited! Last week was all about progress, unfortunately, I can’t really say the same about this week.
I feel like every single thing I’ve taken on this week has taken about ten times longer than I had expected, which means I didn’t make it through as much as I’d hoped.
Here’s what I did actually accomplish this week…
I finished painting our stencilled wall and fell head-over-heels in love with it! Find the stencil I used here.
I came across the most perfect doorknobs for our vintage closet doors (though they’re going to need a good cleaning)!
I’m was SO excited to find this rug waiting for me on our doorstep this week…
Hubs and I have been working hard to put together our DIY Faux Fireplace and it’s looking even better than I’d imagined! It’s just waiting for a few coats of paint, but I can’t wait to show you how we made it!
I’ve chosen another dramatic colour to introduce into the space and I cannot wait to show you how I plan to use it (this is going to be BIG)!
What’s the plan for next week? Well, I’m hoping to finish up our Faux Fireplace, refinish our bedside tables and dresser and (why not shoot for the stars, right?) plank our ceiling. #wishmeluck
And, just for fun, here’s my updated list:
–paint walls, doors, ceiling & trim
-stencil wall
-plank the ceiling
-change baseboards & trim
-change light fixture
-refinish dresser & bedside tables
-make & hang curtains
-refinish & mount antique closet doors
-sew pillows
-build faux fireplace

Correction. What Stacey said.
Thank you SO much Ardith!!!
Oh my gosh half way there already?! That stenciled wall is GORG. Can’t wait to see it in all it’s glory. And I’m excited to see how you use that dark paint color! Looking good my friend!
Thank you Bre! I’ve never gone dark with anything in my home before, so this one definitely has me feeling a bit nervous!
That wall is stunning and so pretty! I love the light accents you are using here. This is going to be one gorgeous room!
Thank you SO much Emily!!! I’m so in love with how it turned out and now I’m absolutely dying to see how it all comes together!

Thank you Ashley! I have no idea how I’m going to get this all done!!!
You are killing it in this room! That stenciling is ridiculous, and I can’t wait to see that faux fireplace and accent color.
Thanks SO much Melissa! I’m so excited about how that gorgeous wall turned out and can’t wait to see everything else come together too!
Oh my Kristi, is that wall gorgeous! Not only the stencil pattern but the color you painted i.! That’s quite the ambitious To Do List you have going – wishing you much luck getting it all done. Can’t wait to see the reveal.
Awwww, thank you Marie … for the sweet comment and the luck 😉 I’m going to need it!
I can’t believe that wall. It’s amazing!!!! Now question: how soft/harsh is that jute rug? I almost bought it but I was worried it’d be too rough for the babies.
Thank you Thalita! The rug is actually pretty soft, it’s no plush rug by any means, but it’s not near as rough as I had expected. I wouldn’t think it would be too rough for the babes.
The stencil is so so pretty and I love the textural rug. Can’t wait to see the charcoal!
Thank you Christine! I’m so excited about how everything is coming together so far!
I love your stenciled wall! I’m really excited to see your planked ceiling. I too am trying to decide on some kind of planking for my ceiling. Haven’t quite figured out what I’m doing there yet. I love every thing you’re doing. Can’t wait to see it all finished.
Thank you! We haven’t gotten ours figured out yet either! Good luck!!!
I think you got more done than you think! Looks like you made great progress! We were super productive for week three too 🙂 Can’t wait to see next week’s progress!
Awwwww, thanks Lindi! I think I’m just feeling discouraged about everything there’s still left to do – here’s hoping we can make it through it all!
Oh my goodness! Your wall looks amazing! Everything is really coming together – I love following along with your progress 🙂
Awwww, thank you Casey! I feel like there’s just SO much left to do! Wish me luck girl!!!
It’s coming along beautifully! I am SO excited that you are planning to plank the ceiling and create a faux fireplace. I can’t wait to see how those turn out!
Thank you SO much Jenna! I’m REALLY hoping we can cross a few more things off the list this weekend! Can’t wait to share that Faux Fireplace next week!

Awwww, well thank you Cami! I’m so excited about how it turned out!!!
I love what I see. We’re in the process of doing much the same thing with our bedroom. You’re building up the suspense to see it when it’s completed! But then again, do we ever complete our decorating?? Stopping by from Make It Pretty Monday
Thank you Carol! It’s been a ton of work already and, with just two weeks to go until the reveal, I’m definitely worried about whether we can pull it all off! I’ve gotta say, I’m absolutely dying to see it too!
I love the stenciled wall! I love following your room transformations and can’t wait to see it all pulled together.
Thank you SO much Erlene! I’m absolutely dying to see how it all comes together too!
Love your soft pallet and stencil<3 Pinned
I stenciled my daughter’s room and know from experience the time it takes (and patience!) and your room looks beautiful. Sharing today on The Painted Drawer Link Party and thanks for linking up!
Thank you SO, SO much! It was VERY time consuming, but oh so worth it!
I’m just catching up on my blog reading and, WOW, I am loving all of your progress! You are killin’ it, Kristi! Can’t wait to get to the post about the faux fireplace!
Thank you! I’m really excited about everything we’ve accomplished so far – here’s hoping we can make it through the rest on time!!!
Just gorgeous! Perhaps I’ve missed it, but I’d love to know the color you used for the stencil. I’m absolutely in love with this space. Thank you for the inspiration.
Thank you Tonya! I’m so happy you are feeling inspired! I first painted the wall with Cloud White and then used Edgecomb Grey with the stencilling – both are from Benjamin Moore.
