Hello my friends! Welcome to Week Two of the One Room Challenge!
I couldn’t be more excited to be taking part in the One Room Challenge this Fall, designing a new Farmhouse Master Bedroom (though this six week timeline might just be the death of me)! #whatwasIthinking
I kicked things off last week with a ton of before photos showing our pathetic excuse for a master bedroom (not my favourite part of a room makeover, that’s for sure). But, to redeem myself, I also shared my Farmhouse Master Bedroom Design plans, which have me totally over-the-moon excited!
So, here’s what I’ve been up to this week…
I brightened things up with some floor to ceiling white paint.
I ripped off all of our existing baseboards and trim.
I started stencilling a feature wall with this beautiful stencil in this light greige colour.
Here’s a little sneak peek of how things are moving along with that. Really hoping I’ll have it all finished up for next week’s post.
I finally chose an accent colour and I cannot wait to show you how I plan to use it!!!
What’s the plan for next week? Well, I’m hoping to finish up that stencilled wall, refinish our gorgeous antique bedside tables and the matching dresser and build and paint our DIY faux fireplace (can’t wait to see how that one turns out!). #wishmeluck
And, just for fun, here’s my updated list:
–paint walls, doors, ceiling & trim
-stencil wall
-plank the ceiling
-change baseboards & trim
-change light fixture
-refinish dresser & bedside tables
-make & hang curtains
-refinish & mount antique closet doors
-sew pillows
-sew bedskirt
-build faux fireplace

Oh my goodness that stencil is AMAZING!!! You have gotten so much done already! I love where this room is going and I can’t wait to see your planked ceiling! Truthfully, we had planned on doing that in the nursery but time isn’t our friend, so it’s not happening this time. Can’t wait to see what’s next!
Awwwww, you’re the best Thalita! I’ve been feeling SO, overwhelmingly behind! I just hope I can somehow get it all done!!! Thanks for the encouraging words my friend! xo

Thanks so much Aniko! That’s a 17 foot long wall and it felt like it took ages, but it’s almost, ALMOST done! Thanks again friend!

Thank you SO, SO much Terry! Here’s hoping it all comes together as planned!
That stencil is SO pretty! I’ve been thinking about doing a feature wall in my master bedroom and that sounds like a good idea for one. You should do a tutorial post! Did it take very long to do?
Thank you Jenna! I’ve definitely got a tutorial post planned, though I might not find the time to share it until after the One Room Challenge 😉 It did take a while at first, but went pretty quickly once I got the hang of it.
Wow, girl, you’ve got quite the to-do list!! That stencil on the wall looks gorgeous though. I know it’s all going to turn out beautiful, just like everything else you do 🙂 Can’t wait to see it all finished! Thanks for linking up to Brag-Worthy Thursday!
Awwww, thank you Erin! I’m dying to see how it turns out too!
I love how you’ve broken this project down into bite sized pieces! We are getting ready to redo our bathroom, and it seems so overwhelming. I think we need to break it down like you have here.
I love your choices, beautiful colors and ideas!
Thank you Jamie! I’m all about lists my friend – there’s nothing more satisfying than listing out each and every thing I need to do and then crossing them all off, one-by-one! Good luck with the bathroom! Hoping that’ll be next up on our list too!
woow.. that is a great job 🙂

Kristi, you have done so much already where do you find all the time?! It’s amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do to a room and adding that stencil, while super time consuming, is so worth it for the beautiful custom finish look! You have some major DIY projects on your to do list, but know you’ll get them all done and it will be fab as always! Can’t wait to see the planked ceiling!! Let’s do this! XOXO, Sarah
Thank you SO, SO much Sarah! You are the absolute sweetest! I am in LOVE with our new stencilled wall and can’t wait to share it next week! I’m really starting to doubt that we’ll make it through everything, but I’m sure we’ll love it no mater what! Good luck girl, can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to this week too!!!
