Happy Monday!
Today’s post will be a short one, simply because it was SUCH a quick and easy update to do!
One of my favorite things about our house is our craftsman style wood door. Most of our house is quite clean and polished looking (read: boring), but this door is one of the few rustic touches that truly fits our style. The problem was that nobody had ever got around to actually treating the wood, so this lovely door was not living up to it’s beautiful potential. Not only that, this poor door was looking quite tired from being exposed to the elements for so long.
Enter this glorious Danish Oil! Our wonderful home inspector actually tipped us off to this amazing oil and the more I researched and read about it (you can read more about it here), the more I knew it would work perfectly for us. I loved the idea of really bringing out the natural wood tones and it would be well protected from the elements to boot! It comes in a few different colour stains, but we chose to stick to plain old ‘natural’. I picked up a can of it at our local hardware store and and simply rubbed in a few coats of the oil until it stopped soaking into the wood. Not only did I not have to remove the door or buy any special products to apply the oil, but the whole process took me maybe an hour all together. It was really that easy!
No more tired old wood for us. We were totally blown away by the transformation! Now I absolutely adore our gorgeous front door! It’s such a beautiful way to welcome people to our home!
What do you think? Do you have some tired looking wood in your home that could use a little TLC?

Your door is gorgeous, Kristi! That is EXACTLY the type of door we want to add to our home someday! Thanks for the tip about Danish Oil. I’ve never tried it but I have some windowsills and moulding that could greatly benefit from it! I will pick it up next time I’m at the hardware store!
Thank you Bre!!! And I’m SO happy that you’ll be able to put this to work in your home too! It really is SUCH an easy way to freshen things up!

I love your door! I actually saw that exact door at Home Depot when we were looking at new front doors for our house. What a difference a little update makes, it looks great and brand new again.

Thanks for sharing at the #WWDParty.
Thank you Antionette!!!
It looks great.
We need yet another new front door (and probably a new stable door for the utility room. It’s just too open to the wind and rain, and even though it’s been treated, it still gets wrecked. Maybe we should just build a porch to help protect it. #SITS
Thank Emma! Ours is very sheltered by our porch which helps keep it looking pretty good. I’m not sure what you could do to help protect yours, but wishing you luck to figure it out!
This looks so amazing! Pinned. Thank you for being a part of our party. I hope to see you tonight at 7 pm. We love partying with you! http://loulougirls.blogspot.com/
