Ladders are my very favourite way to store blankets – they’re not just a beautiful display, but keep your favourite blankets at the ready! This DIY blanket ladder was so inexpensive to make and takes just 30 minutes to build!
We started with a big ol’ stack of 2×2’s cut down to size – 2 lengths of 6′ to make the sides and 5 more cut to just 2′ for each rung.
Then, it was just a matter of attaching them all together with our handy Kreg Jig and a drill.
And then throwing a coat of my favourite stain over it all.
You can find the full tutorial in the video below:
*And just in case you’re looking to put your own Kreg Jig to work, here’s our favourite video tutorial!*
Not only do I have a simple way to to store & display our extra blankets, but I absolutely adore the way this rustic ladder looks in our family room space!

Thank you so, so much for your kind words Mary! I think it must seem like a lot of white in the photos, but really it’s just our sofa, curtains and my bed linens that are light coloured and take some extra care to keep clean. The rest (cabinets, walls, floors, etc.) are all easily wipeable. ๐
