Catching you up with all things currently.
Oh my goodness! It’s June guys … JUNE! Can you even believe it?! I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that we’ve got just 2.5 weeks of school left before Summer break. The end of a school year is always very bitter-sweet, for teachers and students alike. While we’re all very much looking forward to the freedom of our days that Summer break brings, it’s always tough to say goodbye to class full of kiddos that you love. These are the moments that I’m especially thankful for our small town however, because, even though it won’t be nearly often enough, I know I’ll be bumping into those sweet faces around town for many years to come.
On top of the busyness of report card writing and planning all of the end of the year fun, we’ve also had a lot (and oh boy do I mean A LOT) on the go around the house as well. It’s a bit of a long story and I can’t wait to share all of the details with you soon, but for now, let’s just say there are some BIG changes coming our way!
In the mean time, we’re still chipping away at a few exterior projects that have been on my list for ages now. We’ve got some landscaping to catch up on after digging up most of our backyard (remember that?!), I finally managed to get our garden all planted last weekend, but probably the most exciting project on the docket this month will be painting the exterior of our house! While I’ve wanted to tackle this since the day we moved in nearly 7 years ago, this is one of those projects that I’m glad I’m just finally getting around to now, mostly because had I had the chance to choose a colour for the exterior of our house sooner, I likely would have made a safer (less exciting) choice. Instead, I’ve had a ton of time to sit with a slightly significantly more daring option and I couldn’t be more excited to take the plunge…
That’s right! We’ll be painting our house BLACK! It’s going to be SO good!!! Choosing the perfect black is almost as difficult as finding the perfect white, but I think after painting some samples in a few different spots around our exterior (and humming and hawing for days of course!), I’ve narrowed it down to my top two. The thing is, I’m so stuck between those two options that I probably won’t be able to make a decision until the very last second (I do the same thing when ordering at a restaurant, I guess I work best under pressure!). The painters are set to start this Wednesday, weather permitting. I’ll do my best to share it all on Instagram, so you can follow along in real time if you’d like.

Writing: I’m putting together a post to share all of the inspiration for our bold exterior makeover. I can’t wait to show you why I fell in love with the idea of painting our home black!
Needing: To write up a post sharing all of the crazy BIG things we’ve got in the works for the Summer ahead! I can’t wait to share it all with you (just as soon as I carve out the time to sit down and write it)!
Creating: I’ve been working on an updated video tour to share. Our last one was in early 2020 and there’s been SO many changes since that I definitely need to share.
Loving: Don’t know what I’d do without my morning latte.
Wearing: Dresses, dresses and more dresses. I just love the simplicity of throwing on a summer dress in the morning (no tops and bottoms to worry about matching). I’ve linked up a few of my favourites below…
On my wish list: I’ve been on the hunt for some new counter stools for ages now, really loving the beautiful textures in these.
Planning: I’ve been diving deep into planning out all of the ways we can bring more character to the exterior of our home (check out all of my inspiration on Pinterest here).
Working for me right now:ย I am LOVING that the Summer weather is finally here! Gardening, morning runs outside, and after dinner drinks out on the porch – we are enjoying every minute of sunshine we can!
Whatโs not: Finding balance through all the things. It’s been such a struggle to find the time to fit it all in and get it all done lately.
Anticipating: Summer and all of the fun, adventure and outdoor projects that come with that!
