Taking you on a tour of our farmhouse bedroom all decorated for Spring. Rich textures and fresh flowers help to create a light + airy space that still feels cozy and warm.
According to our calendar, Spring has officially arrived.
Of course, you’d never know it looking outside our windows. Our world is still buried under a whole lot of snow here in Northern AB.
Spring here in Alberta is always long and winding roller coaster ride of sunshine and snow – for months + months.
In fact, I’m quite sure we’ve had more snow fall through this last month than we saw the entire rest of our Winter. #happySpring
Which of course, has me dreaming of all things Spring even more.
And so, even with those Wintry views outside, I’m inviting the light + airiness of Spring inside our home…
With some light textures, cozy layers, subtle colours, and of course some fresh flowers.
The obvious place to start was our bed – the linen duvet set brings some of that light + airy texture to the space and the hemstitched quilt set layered on top adds a bit of that cozy warmth we still need this time of year.
This sunny corner is one of my very favourite spots in our home – I LOVE curling up here with a good book and a warm cup of tea, soaking up the afternoon sun.
And my favourite spot to decorate, the clean white mantel on our DIY faux fireplace. A few fresh flowers in some simple bottle vases bring a bit of life to this corner of our bedroom.
With some light + airy fabrics, some subtle pops of colour and few plants scattered around (both fresh + faux), our farmhouse bedroom space has found that perfect balance of feeling fresh + cozy all at the same time…

Hi Kristi! I have to know where you got those beautiful black dressers from and matching side tables? I’ve been looking everywhere for something similar!
Kristi says
Thank you Stephanie! Those lovely dressers actually belonged to my husband’s grandmother once upon a time – you may have some luck checking your local antique markets for something similar. Good luck!
