SHARING MY FAVOURITE READS FROM THE WEEK

This my friends, is the current state of our backyard. If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you’ll already know the story here, but for those of you that may have missed it, you’re probably wondering why we chose to dig a 7ft deep trench all across our backyard. Well, it’s a bit of a long story really, but the gist of it is that we’re adding a covered deck to the back of our house, but before we go ahead and cover the underground access to our gas and plumbing, we needed to run the lines out to the new garage site we’re planning for next Spring. So, though our yard is an absolute disaster right now, we’re hoping to have it back to normal(ish) by the end of this weekend, so we can get started on that deck build next week.
And, though we have so much on the go already between the basement, the backyard and the covered deck plans, we just couldn’t resist escaping it all to spend a few days adventuring with friends down in Fernie, BC. Between mountain biking, paddle boarding and a full day white water rafting, our days were packed to the brim with fun adventures!

We had SUCH a blast enjoying all of the adventure the mountains have to offer, but we’re ready to get these last few outdoor projects behind us before we run out Summer. I’m hoping I’ll have another fun update to share in a few weeks, but for now, you can catch all the action in real time through my Insta stories.
And now, before I get back to work outside, here’s what I’ll be catching up with this weekend…
