This simple DIY floral embroidery art is such a lovely way to bring that vintage, nostalgic feel to any space.
Happy weekend my friends!!! It’s time again for another instalment of our cozy living series, hosted by my friend Jennifer at Town & Country Living. I always look forward to seeing the cozy inspiration that everyone has to share each month!

I’ve mentioned a few times now how I’ve been so drawn lately to the nostalgia of vintage and antiques – whether it be art, furniture, design elements or even small decor items, adding a bit of vintage charm can bring so much warmth to a space.
Though not truly vintage, today’s project is certainly a nod to an art of the past. Embroidery is a bit of a lost art today I’d say, it’s something I associate more with my grandmother’s time than my own. And that’s exactly why I feel drawn to it I think. It makes me think of simpler times, simpler pleasures. And, like knitting, I think it’s not just the simplicity of the art itself, but the moments of quiet while making it that really elicit that sense of coziness and nostalgia.

Having never tried my hand at embroidery (and not really considering myself much of a sewer even), I really had no idea where to start until I came across this little kit. Not only did it come with EVERYTHING I needed to make this piece, but it came with instructions (including photos!) for every step along the way, from beginning to end.

This sweet little piece of embroidery art brings such a lovely little touch of nostalgia to our home and I was surprised how easy it was to create.

I couldn’t believe how simple and straight forward that little kit made things and I couldn’t be happier with how my very first embroidery project turned out! In fact, I’ve already ordered my next one and few other patterns to try on my own after that (you can find a few of my favourites linked up below).

This is too cute for words! This is something that I’ve wanted to try for the longest time. I remember doing it for a hot minute when I was younger but the patterns have gotten so much cuter. Thanks for the inspiration, can’t wait to try this!
Thanks Amanda! I totally agree, there are so many beautiful patterns to choose from now! I can’t wait to start my next project!
It’s so charming and I love the dainty look and feel to embroidery work. I remember back in the day when everyone received embroidered pillow shams as wedding gifts. I still have a few that a great, great aunt made years ago.
This is such a sweet project and turned out beautifully. This is one of those projects on my ‘wish i could do’ . I’ll have to look at your sourced kits and try it out.
Thanks so much Laura! It was so much easier than I’d expected, a kit is a great place to start!
This is so sweet and looks perfect in your home! Wow! LOVE it!
Thank you so, so much Danielle!
Embroidery is my long lost love! I used to embroider all the time. Once I made a large embroidered barn fall scene for my sister’s new home. I think I sewed about 1000 french knots! I haven’t done it for a while now, but seeing your project makes me want to resurrect it. Thanks for the inspiration.
I bet it was just gorgeous Jennifer! I really loved working on this and am so happy with how it turned out! I’m so excited to start another!
