This large DIY chalkboard is so simple to make and, unlike most others out there, actually hangs on the wall like a piece of art.
Good morning friends!
Did y’all catch our lovely farmhouse style hallway reveal the other day?
After weeks of hard work, it feels so good to finally be done and of course, it was worth every hour (no matter how tedious or back breaking)!
I’ve shared all sorts of tutorials along the way including this farmhouse style trim and our gorgeous planked ceiling.
And now, it’s time to show you how we made this super simple large DIY chalkboard…
Just pop on over to AKA Design for all the details.
Wishing you SUCH a lovely day!

Kristi your chalkboard looks great. Beautiful wood frame makes it all the more special. I had made one and I really cheated. I used the wall and just painted on it and then make a faux frame out of moulding. Lol Mine would be the Walmart version to yours. Thanks for linking up with us over at Sweet Inspiration.
Kristi says
Awwwww, well thanks Mary! That’s actually what I originally suggested to hubs, but he talked me into one that hangs on the wall and I absolutely love it!
Jamie says

This is so fantastic! I want to build this sometime this week. How thick is the board section?
Kristi says
SO happy you love it! We used 1/8th inch hardboard to make the chalkboard. Hope this helps!
Kristen Groth says
Love this! Where did you find those cute wreaths and what size are they? Thanks so much!
Kristi says
Thanks Kristen! They are actually candle rings. I found them at a small local shop, but Amazon has a huge selection: http://amzn.to/2jtzoLg.
Fallon Duff says
How thick was the MDF that you used?
Kristi says
I think it was 1/8″ thick.
