Welcome back to the third installment of our Outdoor Makeover Challenge! Just in case you’ve missed anything, here’s your chance to can catch up on Week One and Week Two. I absolutely cannot believe that we are already gearing up for our BIG REVEAL next week! Seriously, how can we be approaching the end of June already?!
It’s been SUCH an incredibly busy few weeks in the Mercer house as the month of June has brought with it tons of exciting adventures for our family! Our most recent travels included a trip for Brady and I to Whistler for some extreme (clearly it’s all relative) mountain biking, a bit of golf and a ton of fun with some awesome friends! I was SO lucky to have the opportunity to participate in the Trek Dirt Series ladies’ mountain bike camp – an AMAZING experience that I would absolutely recommend to anyone that enjoys mountain biking, no matter your skill level. As anyone following me on Instagram will have noticed, I came away with all sorts of new skills to practice on the trails around home! This past weekend was also a chance for Mommy and Daddy to have their first nights away from their little man, which was so much scarier than barreling down the mountain on our bikes. We couldn’t have been more grateful to Brady’s Mom, who drove all the way down to the Kootenays to make sure Carson wasn’t missing us a bit 😉 We had SO MUCH fun in Whistler, but we’re definitely looking forward to a few quiet weekends at home with our family … hopefully enjoying some sun on our newly made over deck!
With all of this travel excitement, we haven’t had a ton of time for DIY’ing lately. But, not to worry … the Outdoor Makeover is still on track and I’ve got SO MUCH in store for you all!!! I’ve been shopping up a storm (surprise, surprise) and I am absolutely dying to share my fabulous finds with you all today, but first, here’s a super quick and easy DIY perfect for dressing up some plain old glassware you might have laying around.
It all started with these tea light holders that I found at World Market for only $.99 each and couldn’t resist picking a few up.
I’ve been trying to come up with an idea for a simple and inexpensive DIY centerpiece for our beautiful Pottery Barn Knockoff Table for weeks now and these seemed like the perfect starting point – the minute I saw them, I knew they would be the perfect match for this Krylon Looking Glass spray paint that I’ve been just itching to try! Following the directions on the can, I sprayed 5 very light coats on all of my candle holders. The spray paint was a dull grey as it was first sprayed, but dried quite quickly to a shiny, mirrored finish, which of course, got even better with each coat. Here’s what I ended up with:
I think these little candle holders are going to bring the perfect amount of light and sparkle to our outdoor space!
And now I’m SOOOOOO excited to share some of my fabulous finds with you!
I hope you all are just as eager as I am to see how this all comes together next week!
Now, I’m sure you are dying to see what Nicole over at Meet the B’s has been up to, so head on over to take a peek! Be sure to follow along with us so you don’t miss a thing … I know I’m much too excited to not share a sneak peek or two along the way!
