If you’ve been following along with our adventures for a while now, you’ll know that usually I share a holiday home tour (or two) of our home all decked out for Christmas, but somehow between the plays & parties, holiday baking and shopping & wrapping, Christmas just sort of snuck up on me this year – here we are, less than a week away from the big day now and I have yet to share much in terms of Christmas around the house. At least I managed to share some photos of our very sparkly tinsel Christmas tree last week, and today, before another holiday season passes us by, I thought I’d share a few photos of our new/old house all cozied up for Christmas.

Thanks to a big dump of snow the day after Halloween that made climbing on the roof far too treacherous for my liking, we kept our outdoor decorations pretty simple this year. A couple of garlands draped over the door, a few wreaths along the garage and some pretty red ribbon scattered throughout it all do a wonderful job of making our home look festive and welcoming, even without all of our usual twinkling lights.
The garlands and ribbon continue inside the house as well, with our beautiful spiral staircase draped with my favourite garland and twinkling lights. A couple of table top trees and a handmade sign round out the decor for our entryway.

Just off of the the entryway is our front study, where you’ll find one of our Christmas trees filling out the front window. This is the tree that Carson always takes charge of, filling it to the brim with all of our most special ornaments – his own handmade creations over the years, the ornaments Brady and I purchased for our first tree (15 years ago now!), and everything in between.

Around the other side of our staircase you’ll find our living room and kitchen – I’ve scattered as much greenery and twinkling lights as I could find throughout both spaces and set our other Christmas tree up right in the middle of it all. Carson and I filled this one to the brim with tinsel (and buried several ornaments in behind it all too) – I swear nothing sparkles like a tree draped with tinsel. You can read more about this year’s tree here.

I have to say, there’s nothing quite like curling up next to a twinkling Christmas tree, in front of a crackling, fire – it truly is the ultimate cozy Christmas vibe.

And, while we didn’t really manage to spread the Christmas cheer beyond a few festive pillows and blankets in the basement and bedrooms, Carson of course decked out his room to the max (with a little help from his elf Dasher).

I hope you enjoyed this little peek at Christmas around our house this year. While it isn’t as polished and perfected as our previous holiday home tours, it still fills our hearts with all the nostalgic Christmas feels we crave this time of year. And who knows, with any luck maybe we’ll have some new spaces to share all cozied up for Christmas in next year’s holiday home tour!

Wishing you SUCH a lovely day my friends!ย

Oh my gosh! I have that same desk that is in your entryway! It was my grandmother’s desk. I love it!
Oh, how neat! Ours belonged to my Mother-in-law growing up. It’s such a beautiful piece!
