I couldn’t be any more excited to have another incredibly talented bloggy friend sharing a fabulous project today! Tara is SUPER creative and I find myself falling in love with every thing she makes (y’all are going to fall head-over-heals for her crate coffee table!)!
So I was up in the mountains making stuff the other day, and I thought “Hey, I should totally guest post for Making it in the Mountains!”. And well, here we are :). This is Tara from Anything & Everything and I am so excited to be guest posting for Kristi today while she gets settled into her new home. #Jealous! No but seriously, I can’t wait to see everything she does to turn her new house into a home! And with that said…. Good Morning Making it in the Mountains readers!
Today I am sharing a very easy and cute craft that would be perfect for Valentine’s day or even the perfect accent piece in a baby’s room.
DIY Love Sign
Supplies:
- wood letters
- scrapbook paper
- thin 8×10 canvas
- craft paint
- brads
- clear enamel spray
- glue
I first started off by painting the thin 8×10 canvas with two coats of craft paint in a pale pink.
I love covering wood letters with scrapbook paper. There are so many fun designs to choose from and it makes for a cute and super easy project. I used 4 different colors/designs of scrapbook paper for each letter.
Then I traced each letter on the back of the scrapbook paper and cut it out. When tracing make sure you flip the letter in the opposite direction. Then I just glued the scrapbook paper on the letters with mod podge.
Once I glued the letters on to the canvas, I decided it needed a little something more. So I added three brads in each corner. I thought about using Jeff’s but Brad was so much more sassy :). They were however not strong enough to go through the canvas, so I just cut off the ends and glued them on with some tacky glue. Then glued the letters on and sprayed it all with some clear enamel spray to seal it and my DIY Love Sign was complete!
This Love Sign will go perfectly with my recently finished Painted Canvas with Ornamental Arrow that I just made.
Needless to say, this project was really fun and turned out fabuloso in this humble bloggers opinion. For more craft & DIY ideas pop on over to Anything & Everything and say hi! Hello, Hey and Hola are also acceptable greetings 🙂 You can also follow along with me here as well!
