Welcome to our farmhouse Summer Bedroom my friends…
It may only be the middle of June, but , after the longest Winter in the history of ever, we’ve happily jumped straight into Summer here in northern Alberta!
The porch is filled to the brim with hanging baskets and flowers (watch for that tour next week!)…
Our first vegetable garden is growing away…
And things are feeling all sorts of light + airy inside the house as we bring in some soft colours, light textures and of course, some lovely fresh flowers…
My sweet friend Krista at The Happy Housie invited me to join in her Seasonal Simplicity Summer series with a Summer home tour this week and I thought it would be the perfect time to share a few ways that I like to bring in a fresh, light + airy feel to our bedroom space for Summer.
It really didn’t take much to bring this bedroom space from it’s warm + cozy Winter look to a more light + airy feel for Summer.
Some beautiful new blush pink sheets…
A light linen coverlet…
And a Belgian flax linen duvet set all come together to make a perfectly cozy bed full of layers so that we can easily make it as warm or cool as we need it to be.
Through the Summer, I find myself craving a more simple, less cluttered look even more than usual (which certainly helps make dusting easier as we leave our windows open all Summer long!).
I’ve made sure to leave lots of open space to keep that light + airy feel, bringing in just a few plants (both real + faux) to add a bit of freshness & life to the space.
With some lighter textures, pops of soft colour and a little less clutter, our bedroom space really brings that fresh, simple, light + airy feel of Summer time.
And just in case you saw something in our bedroom space that you might want to read more about, I’ve linked up a few other bedroom projects below:
Now, be sure to check out the other lovely Summer spaces being shared throughout the week!

Your bedroom looks so lovely for summer. It finally feels like summer here, too, and it’s amazing 😉 xx
Thank you so, so much Danielle!
I love your gorgeous farmhouse bedroom, Kristi, and the fresh summery touches you’ve added are perfect! We are feeling like it’s been back to winter here after a very hot May… hopefully the weather picks back up as predicted this weekend!
Thanks so much Krista! Wishing you a warm and sunny weekend ahead my friend!

Your bedroom looks lovely, and I love how you’ve added in those pretty pink sheets! They are perfect for summer.
Thanks so much Emily! They were too pretty to pass up 😉
There is something about those candle stands, they look unfinished and have no wood varnish on them. Did you intentionally them that way?? I love those pink sheets and flax duvet. As you already know, you’ve go a beautiful home. I’m hoping mine would look this good in front of a camera!
Thank you!
What color is the furniture painted?
Hi Julie, the dresser and bedside tables are painted in Onyx by Benjamin Moore.
