Sharing my favourite ways to create a welcoming guest room space…
Oh my goodness friends. It’s officially the week before Christmas already.
Can you even believe it?!
I mean, wasn’t it just yesterday that I had a whole month ahead to prepare for the holiday season? Where has the month gone?
Okay really, where has the year gone?!
With just a few days before our house is filled with family and friends (not to mention The Big Guy in red), the countdown is on to whip this house into shape.
If you’ve been following along with our adventures, you’ll know that’s no easy task considering our house looked like this just a few short days ago…
But, things are moving along and I’ve got high hopes that we won’t be making our family gather around this table in our entryway for Christmas dinner. #fingerscrossed
Regardless of all the craziness happening on our main floor, our house guests won’t be feeling anything but calm + cozy thanks to our brand new guest room space.
I’m SO excited to finally break it all in when our first house guests arrive later this week!
And with a few extra special touches, they’re sure to love it so much, they’ll never want to leave.
So today, I’m sharing five of my favourite ways to create the coziest guest bedroom just in time for the holidays!
one. Start with a clean & uncluttered space.
Our old guest room was nothing but a hodge podge of old furniture and a dumping ground for all of the things I didn’t have a home for, but couldn’t bear to get rid of. Honestly, it was a bit of an overwhelming mess that nobody wanted to spend any time in. But our new guest room… well, it’s SO pretty!
two. Bring in layers of blankets and soft pillows to make the coziest bed.
Our beautiful Belgian linen duvet set from Crane & Canopy is SO soft and luxurious, our guests are sure to love curling up with it. Paired with a soft set of flannel sheets and a few extra blankets and pillows, our guests be able to resist crawling into this cozy nest!
three. Always keep a few extra blankets on hand.
Not only do I always leave an extra quilt folded at the end of the bed, but there are always a few more blankets tucked away with easy access for those extra cold nights.
four. Candlelight.
I always leave a lovely, scented candle and matches so our guests can curl up in the candlelight. I mean, what could be cozier than that!
five. Put together a welcoming guest basket.
I love to put together a simple guest basket filled with everything our house guests might need to make their stay wonderful. You can find all of the things I like to add to ours here.
I hope you found some tips to help you cozy up your guest bedroom space this holiday season!
