Chalkboards are SUCH a fun way to bring some rustic artwork into any space that you can easily change out with the seasons!
Y’all, I’m seriously SO excited about this series! I mean honestly, who doesn’t have 10 minutes to spare?
On the first Wednesday of each month, I’ve been teaming up with an amazing group of bloggers to bring you all sorts of inspiration that you’re sure to love. This month’s theme was {Summer}, and I cannot wait to see the lovely ideas that everyone came up with!
But first, I’m excited to share this super simple Summer chalkboard art…
We’ve had this chalkboard hanging in our hallway space since we renovated it last Spring…
I thought it would be a fun way to add some artwork to the space that I could easily change out with the seasons.
And, it totally could be…
Except that it’s read {hello Spring} for more than a year now. Ha!
Of course, I’ve been meaning to change it up for months now…
I mean really, it would take just a few short minutes!
And so, when our 10 Minute Decorating came up this month, I finally made the time (all 10 minutes) to change out our chalkboard art for something a bit more Summery…
I started by using my finger to draw some straight lines (just barely visible) to help keep my writing straight. Then, I very lightly wrote out my first word, tracing over it again once I knew I’d gotten it just the way I wanted it.
I went on with the rest of my text and picture in much the same way, making things more pronounced once I’d gotten the base of everything just so.
Finally, I finished it all off by lightly running my finger over everything to smudge up the chalk a bit and make each line look just a bit softer.
This simple Summer chalkboard art took me just a few minutes to draw out and I love that I’ve finally got something different to look at every time I walk down our hallway once again!
I definitely won’t be waiting so darn long to change it out next time!
Now, just in case you saw something you absolutely loved in our hallway space, I’ve linked up sources for all of my decor below:

I always struggle with what to put on my chalkboard. Probably because i don’t want to erase what i had before because it took me so long to do it the first time ;( But this is so cute! Definitely doing this. Love the wreaths too!
It always takes me a few tries to get it just right too Cindy, but this one was SO darn easy! Thanks so much!
