My favourite reads from the week.
Well, things are finally starting to warm up around here this week. After more than two weeks of being stuck inside through an extreme cold snap, I think the entire province is celebrating being able to wander outside our homes again! Between the pandemic and that crazy cold snap, things were feeling pretty restricted around here – even for this introvert, I can’t tell you how great it feels to be able to be outside again, breathing in the fresh air and sunshine, and spending some time outdoors with people from outside our household.
All that time stuck inside did give us a bit more time to focus on our first reno project of the year at least (you can read more about it here). Brady finished up the paneling over the weekend and, even though there’s still a long way to go before this space will be officially done, you can already see the character this vertical shiplap wainscoting will bring to this space!
I’ve been squeezing in an hour here and there all week trying to fill all of the nail holes and caulk any cracks and seams between the boards, hopefully getting it ready for paint this weekend. You can see the colour we’ll be going with in the design plans I shared here. Wish me luck friends! And of course, keep an eye on our progress through my stories on Instagram this weekend if you’re curious.

WEEKEND READING
We’ve only been tending our own vegetable garden for a few years now, but I feel like each year we learn more and more about it all. This Spring I’m planning to start our own seeds for the first time and I’m soaking up all the information I can. I found this how-to post about starting seeds indoors SO helpful, and just too good not to share!

These 17 key elements to achieving that cottage look basically encompass everything I want my home to be!
This post about 10 design topics that elicit strong opinions was such a fun read.
Can you believe these beautiful nightstands were a DIY project?!
This post on being the “fun Mom” really resonated with me. Such a great reminder to not be so hard on ourselves.
Just added this easy swirled cinnamon croissant loaf to my Sunday baking list this week.
The Instagram feed I can’t get enough of this week.
Finally, here’s what’s on my nightstand this week (I’m only about halfway through, but I can’t recommend it enough!).
Wishing you the most lovely weekend!
