No matter where you live or what season you’re in, chances are you’ve got more than a few throw blankets around the house. I’m sharing 5 of the best ways to store blankets all around your home that are just as practical as they are beautiful!

There’s nothing cozier than curling up under a warm blanket, but what do you do with that blanket when it’s time to get back up again? We all know the tried and true folded blanket over the back of the couch, but there are so many other, more creative ways to store all of those extra throw blankets around the house and I can’t wait to share a few of my favourites with you today!
Number One: The Blanket Ladder

Whether it’s a lovely vintage ladder or a DIY version, a blanket ladder is a beautiful way to store + display blankets! We’ve put a wonderful old antique ladder to work in our master bedroom and a simple DIY ladder fills some empty wall space in our living room.
Number Two: A Large Basket

This might just be my favourite way to store our throw blankets simply because of how easy it is to pull them out when you need and more importantly, put them back when you’re finished. I love that the basket brings some texture to the room and can easily hold 2 or 3 big blankets.

Number Three: Draped or Folded Over the Sofa

Now I know this one’s probably been put to work in nearly every home out there, but I wanted to mention the idea of skipping the folding and simply draping it a little more casually. I really think a more haphazard drape has a less polished and more lived-in and cozy feel.
number four: Stacked in a Cabinet

Sure, you could simply fold your blankets and stack them on a shelf in the closet, but I love the idea of stacking them inside a glass front cabinet so much more! Not only do you get the opportunity to display your beautiful blankets, but people feel more welcome to pull them out whenever they need.

Number five: folded at the end of the Bed

Each and every bed in our home as a nice, warm blanket folded at the foot of it. After all, we live in Northern Alberta! It helps to add a bit more cozy texture to the bedding and, more importantly, it’s great to have some extra warmth to pull up in the night if we get cold.
And just in case, here are a few of my favourite blankets…
I hope you found a few new ideas to store some of the throw blankets around your own home!

Wishing you such a lovely day!
