Can you even believe Christmas is just a few sleeps away now?!
I swear it comes faster with every passing year! And, with the renovation taking up most of our time these last couple of months, Christmas snuck up on us faster than ever this year.
I mean, nothing puts you in the Christmas spirit more than missing floors, walls + ceilings, right?!
You may remember that not so long ago our main floor wasn’t just under construction, it was actually missing as we took on our biggest renovation project ever…
But thankfully, through all of the busyness of the season, we’ve still managed to make some progress with things…
Bringing our house back to life, just in time for the big day!
Not only do we have floors, walls and a ceiling again (and quite pretty ones I might add)…
But, we have a kitchen again!!!
Well, mostly anyway.
There were more than a few hiccups along the way, but we have a kitchen to cook our Christmas dinner in and for that, I am so, so thankful!
I’ll tell ya, there’s nothing like living without a kitchen sink or appliances to make you appreciate the little things.
Christmas will certainly look a little different this year. Though we’ve still got a long way to go yet to get to the other side of this renovation, and things are still looking a little rough around the edges, we’ve never been happier to host Christmas in our home.
Not only do we have a tree sitting in our front window for the first time ever…
And a front living room with furniture and everything…
But most importantly, with our kitchen, dining room and living room all spread out in one great big space now, we can finally host our whole family, all in the same room at the same time.
And you know what that means … more time together with the people we love most, enjoying every minute of Christmas with our family!
From our family to yours, wishing you the Merriest Christmas and all the best in the year to come!
Happy Holidays!
Oh my goodness, it looks AMAZING! I can’t wait to see everything once it’s finished. You guys should be so proud of all the hard work you’ve put in these last few months! Enjoy the time with your family and hopefully get some rest, too 😉
Best,
Kelly
Thank you so, so much Kelly! I’m so excited to see it all finished up too, but happy to take a break over the holidays to enjoy some of the fruits of all that hard work! Merry Christmas my friend!
You are AMAZEBALLS! First you get a badge of courage for living in a home under renovation (been there, done that, should’ve got a badge). Second all your changes and choices are nothing short of perfect. The home is so open and inviting and makes so much more sense now. And I’ve always loved your color choices and DIY projects. I’m tackling the Farmhouse style trim this summer. My husband would like to thank you for that project 😉 Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Ah Jennie, you are so darn sweet! Thank you so, so much for your kind words! It’s definitely exciting to be seeing the end of it all coming soon! Merry Christmas my friend!
Congratulations on making such lovely progress with your renovation and for being able to enjoy/share it with your family for Christmas. It makes the holiday that much more magical for you. Happy Christmas, Ardith

Ahhhh, thank you Ashlea!
Loving your floors the pine look who/what style love them getting to do the same thing with my house. love your look.
Thank you Tammy! We’re SO happy with them! It was hard because I had such a specific picture of what I wanted in my head – I hunted high and low for months to find these floors and they’re absolutely perfect! We finally went with the Kaslo Wire Brushed Oak floors from this collection: http://timelesswoodfloors.ca/kootenay-collection/. Hope this helps!
