There’s nothing cozier than a warm, frothy Chai Latte on a cold Winter’s Day…
If you follow along with our adventures on Instagram, you’ll already know that just last week we were exploring Calgary, AB for the week. Not only were we adventuring all around the city, but best of all, we were enjoying the most lovely Spring-like weather, which of course, left me craving all things Spring each and every moment since.
And then (quite fittingly I might add), we came home to the biggest dump of snow we’ve seen all Winter and I found myself relishing in the coziness of it all once again.
I’m sure it’s no surprise that here in Alberta, we know how to handle a little cold + snow. Afterall, it’s our normal so much of the year. But, when temperatures drop even lower than the arctic, well, nobody wants to venture outside into that.
Those colder than cold temperatures start to creep in, the snow starts falling like it’s never going to stop, and every house in town is feeling cozier than ever. Everyone cancels any plans that might involve leaving the house and we all settle in for a few days tucked warm inside.
Fires are lit, blankets are scattered everywhere and marathons of baking, movie watching and fort building take over our days.
These cozy snow days are some of my very favourites.
And coziest of all of course, is an afternoon wrapped in a nest of blankets with a good book and a warm chai latte in hand.
So today, I’m showing y’all how to whip up my favourite go-to Winter drink…
Cozy Chai Latte
Start with a scoop of your favourite loose leaf chai tea (find mine here). Pour it into a mesh tea infuser and then pop that into a cozy mug (you can find mine here). Fill your mug with hot water (I like mine to be just nearly boiling) and then let it steep for 4-5 minutes.
Meanwhile, pour about 1/3 cup of milk into a milk frother (you can find mine here), or froth by hand with this handy little whisk. Then, carefully pour that warm, frothy milk on top, using a spoon to scoop out any bubbles left behind.
Then, curl up under a cozy blanket with a good book and drink down that coziness my friends!

I love chai tea, I must make this because it’s been way too long since I’ve had one! This whole post just made me feel so relaxed and happy, I just love the thought of fort building, baking and being in a cozy next of blankets, it all sounds divine!
Thank you so, so much Laurie! We’re needing all the cozy we can get with all this snow we’ve been getting!
You included all my favourite ways to cozy up in this post! Chai tea, blankets, a good book, etc! Stay warm friend!
Awwwww, another reason we’re such easy friends! Happy weekend Kendra! xo
Kristi, I love the sunlight you captured in your photos. Looks so pretty on your white tray and blankets! My hubby is a big tea drinker and I’m going to make this for him. Thanks for sharing your recipe and your pretty pictures!
I had no idea Chai was so easy to make. Pinning your recipe. That arctic air awful we had it over Christmas and we couldn’t even go on long walks. It was just too cold. I loved the baked eggs you posted last month and this morning we tried our own rendition what a scrummy and filling breakfast. I was too stuffed for lunch 😉
Oh good! I’m SO happy you loved the recipe Danielle! It’s one of our faves! We’re right in the middle of a snowy cold snap, too cold to do anything outside – we’re definitely getting cozy any way we can! Enjoy your Sunday friend!
looks yummy and your pictures are beautiful. stay warm!
Thank you so, so much Laura!
Looks nice and cozy! I always love to have a cup of coffee while reading a book in the morning. It’s a very relaxing time while getting some time to myself.
Sounds like the perfect way to start the day!
Chai lattes are one of my favorite hot drinks. They’ll quite perfect for winter days. I can’t wait to give your recipe a try!
Thank you Amanda! There’s just something so warm and cozy about a chai tea isn’t there!
