A dreamy farmhouse style bathroom design sure to inspire!
Hello friends!
Welcome to WEEK TWO of this crazy One Room Challenge journey!
We may be just two weeks into this thing, but friends, we are in full on renovation mode around here.
It’s amazing how renovations have a way of totally taking over the entire house, isn’t it? I can’t really explain how it happens, but it feels like nearly every room in our home ends up filled with some sort of project mess.
Case + point: the craft room…
The guest room…
And even the garage, which hasn’t actually seen a car in it for weeks (who uses their garage to park their cars in anyway?)…
Thankfully, with this ever-spreading mess has come quite a bit of progress.
You may remember where we started last week (how could you forget?!)…
And here’s a little peek at where we are with things today…
It may not look like much, but that I assure you, IS in fact progress. Out with the old my friends, out with the old.
And what you ask, are we planning to fill it back up with? Well, let’s take a look now, shall we?
A Farmhouse Style Bathroom Design
That’s right, I’m following my neutral loving, farmhouse style heart to create a light and airy space with a ton of rustic charm and character. (Surprise!)
So, here’s a look at how we’re going to create this dreamy farmhouse bath…
We’ll be laying some pretty gorgeous foundations with this creamy marble tile from The Builder Depot and some pretty planked walls in a soft white.
I can’t wait to replace our ugly old shower with a beautiful glass shower! With this stunning arabesque tile on the walls and a creamy marble hex on the floor, I think it’s going to be a total show-stopper! Not to mention this beautiful chrome shower head and faucet from Delta Canada! I just love the way it’s mounted on the pretty gooseneck arm – now if that doesn’t scream farmhouse, I don’t know what would.
Beside the shower, we’ll be putting in this swoon-worthy tub from American Standard Canada. And plan to install this ahhhhhhmazing roman faucet to fill it with. I absolutely cannot wait to relax in this baby when all is said and done!
Obviously, we can’t have a bathroom without a toilet. I love that this one we picked up from Home Depot has a concealed trapway, giving it a very clean look.
I’ve been dreaming of a beautiful dresser turned vanity for ages now and I am bound and determined to make that happen here. We’re going to be putting our own twist on things with this one – stay tuned for more on that soon, but if you’re looking for a hint, this is the colour from Sherwin-Williams that I’m thinking we will go with.
We hunted high and low for the perfect square vessel sinks to top our vanity with and finally found them when we came across these Boxe sinks from American Standard. And of course, more gorgeous faucets from Delta Canada’s Cassidy collection for even more vintage charm. Just look at those lovely handles … {swoon}!
Above the vanity I’m picturing two oval mirrors like this, centered over the sinks – though I’ve got a perfect picture of them in my mind, I haven’t actually pulled the trigger on those yet.
And I cannot wait to hang three of these GORGEOUS rustic lights from Barn Light Electric (they’re a perfect match to our hallway lights!) – one on either side of the mirrors and one right in the middle.
I bet you’re wondering what this is all costing us and how I’m keeping track of it all …
I’m putting my favourite budgeting tool to work again on this project. ItSums has been such a huge help as we plan each renovation project throughout our home! Honestly, I can’t say enough great things about this brilliant site! It keeps track of links, photos and costs for every product we use. It also organizes it all into categories so we can see how much we’ve spent and on what, and it even let’s us mark things as purchased, so that we know exactly how much we’ve spent and how much we’ve still got to budget for. You’re definitely going to want to hop on over to our Farmhouse Style Bathroom board to see how it all works!
We are SO incredibly lucky to be teaming up with some AHHHHHMAZING companies as we take on this crazy renovation! Sending out SUCH a big thank you to the following companies for sponsoring this makeover (and making it so easy to recommend them and their fabulous products!):
ItSums | Sherwin-Williams
The Builder Depot | Home Depot Canada | American Standard Canada
Finally, because I just cant help myself, let me just break it down one more time (ya’ll know how much I love my lists!):

I warned you last week, this bathroom makeover is going to be epic.
And we’ll be doing every inch of it ourselves.
Have we bitten off more than we can chew? Probably.
But my friends, if we can pull this thing off…
Well, I think we all can agree, this is going to be one dreamy farmhouse style bathroom with a whole lotta charm!
Wish us luck!!!

I absolutely love your inspiration, Kristi! It’ll look amazing! You guys have worked so hard already! p.s. Thanks a million for sharing how one room makeover effects the entire house… I thought we weren’t normal or something!! lol! Glad we’re not the only ones! Good luck this week, friend!
Awwww, well thanks Kendra! And yes, it’s definitely an adventure for the whole family! 😉 Wishing you luck this week too my friend!
This looks like it’s going to be amazing!! I love seeing the ORC rooms but I can imagine it is SO much work to get it all done. I can’t wait to tune in and see the finished room
Thank you SO much Christene! It is A LOT of work, but it definitely helps to venture through it all with so much support at least. Thanks again!
You’ve got a great start there!!! Love your inspiration board 🙂 I’m excited to see it all done… although, I’m sure you are too!!
Yes, absolutely dying to see it all finished up!!! Here’s hoping we can pull it all together in time! Thanks so much Jennifer!
This post is why I love following the One Room Challenges! A lot of times with renovation posts you mostly see the “after” pictures. It’s fun to follow along step by step and see the craziness along the way! Gives me more of an idea of what I would be getting into if we started a renovation like this!
I went for a more neutral look like this in our guest bathroom. It’s a pretty big bathroom so I have plenty of space for some shelves or other type of storage. I’m wanting to figure out something soon since I’ll be using that bathroom for the baby and need more storage for his towels and bath stuff! I’m excited to get some ideas from you.
You’re SO right Jenna! I LOVE having this chance to really follow along with the process! To be honest, I don’t think we really knew what we were getting ourselves into. 😉 Here’s hoping I’ll have some inspiring pictures to share soon!!! Thanks so much friend!
Wow.wow.wow. We have full faith in you and your DIY abilities. This bathroom is going to be gorgeous! We love following along. Our first ORC has already had a couple of bumps but we are loving the ride. Cheers to a great week!
Thank you SOOOOO much ladies! Really hoping we can pull this one off!
Oh my gorgeous, I am dying over here! :). Your choices are amazingly beautiful, and I can’t wait to see how it comes together.
Ahhhhh, thank you so much Kimm! I’m head over heels in love with it all too and can’t wait to see it all put to work in the finished space!
THAT tub, That tile!
*swoon*
Right?! SO in love too! Thanks so much for sharing the love!
Beautiful picks Kristi! I’m glad I’m not the only one with renovations creeping into every room!
Thanks Roxanne! Our entire house is an absolute disaster!!! Cannot wait for this to be done!
Haha, I so understand about the spreading of project supplies! I was complaining about the mess last weekend and my husband casually replied, “We’re doing a project, so of course it looks like this.” completely unphased. It’s par for the course around here! 🙂 Love your bathroom inspiration, especially that tub! It’s going to be so beautiful and you’ve already gotten so much done!
Thank you so, so much for your sweet words Samantha! We’ve certainly got a long way to go before that tub is ready for soaking in (and my house is back to normal), but we’re working on it! 😉
Love the plan Kristi!! Bathrooms are such fun, compact spaces. It’s going to be beautiful!
Thanks so much Ashlea! It’s going to be A LOT of work, but I’m sure it will be so worth it in the end!
Kristi, it’s going to be gorgeous! Y’all on on y’all’s way!
Hahaha! Thanks so much girl!
Kristi I adore the direction that your room is headed towards! You did SO much better than I did in my room this week.
I would love for you to share this post at Thoughts of Home on Thursday. I think our readers would really enjoy it!
Good luck in the upcoming week!
Thank you so, so much Laura! I’m definitely nervous about how slowly things are moving along (even though we’ve been working away at it every chance we get!), but I’ve still got some faith we’ll be able to pull this all off in the end. Will definitely pop by, thanks again!
Totally in love with your tile choice! Yes! And, yep… the mess is everywhere here too. Some of it has even migrated to the cabin. 😉
Thank you Jen! And man, we’re only two weeks in and I’m already wishing for this to be over, if only to have my house back! 😉 Less than four weeks to go my friend!
Ahhh! We can’t wait to see the final product; it’s going to be GORGEOUS!
– Sarah from Barn Light Electric
Thank you SOOOOOO much Sarah! I cannot wait to see it all come together too! Those lights are going to look amazing in there!
Kristi all of your choices for the bathroom are so beautiful! I just love the tiles you picked! Can’t wait to see more!
Thank you so, so much Lisa! I’m so excited about those gorgeous tiles too! Here’s to another productive week!
Oh my gosh, Love everything. There’s so much to do though….. I feel kinda bad for you. =)
Hahahaha! Seriously though, what were we thinking?! It will all be worth it in the end though, right? 😉
I know it must not seem like a lot of progress, but it’s clear you guys are doing well! The demo process can be such a drain. Can’t wait to see how things progress this week.
Thank you so, so much Sarah! It’s so discouraging to be working so hard at things, but not be seeing as much progress as we’d hoped. Here’s to a better week to come!!!
Love the choices, I have the almost the exact vanity in my garage, that i painted last year, I was thinking of using it as a clothes chest in my guest bedroom, but its to much white. I think your idea of a vanity for the bathroom is amazing.
I guess mine is going to stay in the garage, until i figure it all out.
Maria
Thank you so much Maria! Ours is just a bit different than this and I can’t wait to share all of the details soon! I bet your dresser would make for a lovely storage in your guest room! Plus, you can always turn it into something else down the road if inspiration strikes!
Kristi, you knew this bathroom had to get uglier before it got better! Nice work on the demo this week. I am swooning over all the new fixtures, tiles and other plans you have for this space. It’s going to be absolutely stunning when you get done with it. Keep up the great work!
Thank you sooooo much Carrie! Feeling SO far behind, but finally making progress this week that isn’t all lost behind the walls, which feels great!
Oh my goodness, both tile choices are gorgeous! Your inspiration is beautiful too. I can’t wait to see the final product!
Thank you SO much Leslie!!!
Oh my gosh! That tile is gorgeous!! I am eagerly awaiting how it looks with the paint color you chose. So much work to do in this space. You are doing fantastic!!
Thank you Stephanie!!! I feel like we’re absolutely drowning in work right now, but I just keep reminding myself that it will all be worth it in the end!
Oh, that tile!! All the heart eyes are happening over here!
Awwww, thanks Emily! I LOVE it too!
Love what you have picked out, can’t wait to see it all finished!
Thanks so much Heidi! I’m dying to see it all come together too!
This bathroom is going to be FABULOUS!!! I can’t wait to see it all finished! Thank you for sharing at The DIY Collective! Can’t wait to keep following along with your progress 🙂

Oh my goodness! I’m loving everything about your plans! You must be SO excited!!
My entire upstairs looks the same way! You can barely walk in our hall right now, haha! Your inspiration is gorgeous, I can’t wait to see your bath finished.
Thank you so much Katy! I hear ya, the mess has only gotten worse as the weeks go on … cannot wait to have my house back!
