SHARING MY FAVOURITE READS FROM THE WEEK

Happy Friday friends! I hope you had a great week! Ours was a VERY busy one around here!
On the home reno front, we definitely made some progress. Brady managed to get our current concrete patio demolished, making room for the piles to be installed for our new deck. We also had our electrical inspection for the lines out to our new garage and hot tub sites, so those trenches are ready to be filled back in (finally!). Unfortunately, we’re still waiting for the gas line inspection and test, which is holding up any further progress on our deck, fingers crossed that happens soon so we can finally move onto some deck construction.

The basement also saw a ton of progress this week thanks to our amazing contractor. While Brady was busy working away outside, our basement drywall was finished up with mud and tape and I’m so excited to say that we’re finally ready for paint! Here’s hoping I have some finished walls to share next week.

It wasn’t all renovation work around here this week, Carson also went off to his first day of grade three. Not only is it a brand new school year, with a whole lot of new restrictions and ways of doing things, but my sweet little man is moving on to a brand new school this year too! Though everything about this year will look very different from his first few years of school, I’m thankful he has some amazing teachers and a few of his very best friends in class to share it with.
And now, before I get back to work outside, here’s what I’ll be catching up with (and baking!) this weekend…

I don’t see a link to my friend Phuong’s IG. Her home is the one you used a photo of for the DIY eucalyptus wreath. I hate to even say anything, but I would recognize that porch anywhere and she deserves not to have her photos used without credit considering how hard she has worked to share her design talent for us all to benefit from.
The DIY eucalyptus wreath tutorial belongs to my friend Rachel and Maison de Pax. You can find a link to it directly above the photo I shared, but I’ll share it here for you too: https://www.maisondepax.com/diy-faux-eucalyptus-wreath-tutorial/. Or maybe you mean the Fall front door decorating ideas I shared above it with the white front porch and black door? I discovered that on the Studio McGee blog, you can find the link to it shared above the photo, or follow it here: https://studio-mcgee.com/the-anatomy-of-a-fall-front-door/. I would never share someone else’s work without giving them credit.
Back to the front door w eucalyptus wreath… what brand, where to buy? Exactly what I’ve been looking for!
So happy you love it! I actually made it! You can find the tutorial here: https://www.makingitinthemountains.com/farmhouse-home-how-to-make-a-diy-eucalyptus-wreath/.
