Simple decorating ideas to create a cozy farmhouse Christmas bedroom.
You guys! It’s finally, finally here! My absolute favourite time of year!
I couldn’t be more excited to be breaking out the Christmas decor for another holiday season! And even better, I’m teaming up with an amazing group of blogging friends to bring you all sorts of beautiful holiday inspiration all week long with the Very Merry Christmas Home Tour!
Sending out an extra big welcome to those popping over from Create and Find or one of the other beautiful home tours. We’ve been hard at work through the last few years renovating our old house from the 70’s to create the modern farmhouse of our dreams and I am so, so happy to finally have the chance to decorate our newly renovated main floor for the holidays for the very first time! I can’t wait to share it all with you next week, but I thought I’d kick off the holiday decor tours this week with the space I always love to decorate first.
As the temperatures start to drop and the snow starts falling, I find myself craving all things cozy, especially as I crawl into bed after a long day.
Our bed is always the very first place in our home to get a cozy makeover for the holidays. With some warm fleece sheets, crisp white bedding and a few extra layers of quilted linen and faux fur, our bed feels irresistibly cozy.
I keep that lovely {grateful} sign over our bed all year long as a reminder of all we have to be thankful for. It’s the last thing I look at each night as I head to bed and the first as I get myself ready for the day each morning.
I love to keep the rest of my decor really simple, with neutral colours, lots of texture and a few pops of green for good measure.
A potted olive tree adds some rich colour and life on our bedside tables.
And some simple faux pines bring a bit of colour to the other side of the space. I just love the way the green pops against the dark colour of our vintage dresser.
A frosty garland over the mirror adds some colour and texture over our faux fireplace. Keeping the mantel decor simple helps to keep that light, airy and uncluttered feel.
I kept the decor very simple on the other side of the room as well, focusing more on bringing in cozy textures in light, neutral colours.
This cozy pom pom wreath is still one of my very favourites! It was SO simple to make and I love that I can leave it up all Winter long.
Wrapping a string of rustic, oversized jingle bells and some string lights around our vintage ladder and draping a soft blanket underneath brings so much warmth and coziness to this little corner.
And that’s it friends. Sweet and simple and oh, so cozy.
I hope you found some inspiration to bring some cozy Christmas decor to your bedroom space this holiday season.
