Hello my friends! It’s time again for another instalment of our cozy living series, hosted by my friend Jennifer at Town & Country Living. I always look forward to seeing the cozy inspiration that everyone has to share each month!
I think with the world spending most of their hours at home right now, finding ways to make life cozier is more important than ever. I don’t know about you, but I find so much comfort in creating that cozy feeling, for myself and for our family.
Last month I shared a new hobby I’d always wanted to try my hand at, this month (thanks to some extra time at home), I’m happy to share another that I’ve been learning from home.
You guessed it – watercolor painting.
I’ve always admired watercolour paintings – there’s just something about the softness of them that I’ve always been drawn to.
Of all the hobbies I’ve been wanting to learn, this one’s been especially fun because it’s one I’ve been learning with my son as well. Not only has it been something we look forward to each afternoon, but it’s been such a great way to unplug for a while and get creative together.
Armed with a set of brushes, a palette of paint and some watercolour paper, we’ve been sitting down each afternoon to work our way through some watercolor lessons together – we’ve been especially loving the daily lessons in this book, as well as these video lessons on Instagram.
We’ve been loving our time painting together so much, I couldn’t help but share it with you too.
How I’m learning to watercolor paint from home
watercolor brushes (be sure whatever brushes you choose are made for watercolor)
watercolor paper (be sure to order cold pressed paper, at least 140lb weight)
I hope this leaves you feeling inspired to take on your own journey to learn watercolor from the comfort of home too. Curious about the other hobbies I’m hoping to learn from home too? Here are 5 creative hobbies you can learn without leaving the house…
