Bright & Cheery Spring Milk Bottle Vases

Good morning!

The weather has been so lovely around here that I’ve got nothing by Summer on the brain! So, I’m taking a break from sharing all of the awesome DIY’s in our Rustic Boy Bedroom Makeover, to share a quick and easy DIY project so perfect for Summer: these bright & cheery milk bottle vases!

These bright & cheery milk bottle vases were SO perfect for Summer! You'll never believe how quick & easy they were to make!

You’ll never believe how simple these pretty little milk bottle vases were to make!

I started with some simple milk bottles that I picked up at Michaels – they were an absolute steal at 60% off, but honestly this project could work with any glass container, including a plain ol’ jar or bottle headed for the recycling bin.

I also picked up a few cans of spray paint in some fun colors. I was sure to choose a glossy finish paint, so that I ended up with an enamel sort of look.

Placing the bottles face down, I got to work layering on a few thin coats of paint in my favorite colors. The key word here is thin because if the coats of paint are too thick, they’ll start to drip down the sides creating awful marks that will only be highlighted by the glossy finish. Now, nobody wants that!

And my friends, here’s what I ended up with…

    1. Hi Jodi! Thank you SO much for your sweet comment! We do have a ton of amazing thrift shops, though our crafting shops aren’t near as fun as those in the USA. Thanks again for your super sweet words, they totally made my day!

  2. Stink’n cute Kristi! I saw those at Michaels the other day and contemplated buying them but my cart was already bursting at the seams $$$$$ so I stopped myself. Dang!

  3. These are adorable! I always see jars in my local craft stores and I’ve never really tried to do anything with them. I love these colors you chose, too! I need to try this! Great blog you’ve got here!

  4. Very pretty, Kristi! Love the colors! Reminded me of last summer when I painted our 4 metal chairs and got to pick 4 Krylon colors too!! Soo fun 🙂 Starbucks bottles would be perfect for this too! Thanks for sharing!

    1. Thanks Rachel! I’m so happy you love them! I’m not sure about the paint holding up outside, but on a porch they should be fine 🙂

  6. These are so cute and colorful! I would have so much fun using these in my food photography. I need to make some. I saw some bottles like this in the Target dollar section. I should have picked them up!
