Good morning!
The weather has been so lovely around here that I’ve got nothing by Summer on the brain! So, I’m taking a break from sharing all of the awesome DIY’s in our Rustic Boy Bedroom Makeover, to share a quick and easy DIY project so perfect for Summer: these bright & cheery milk bottle vases!
You’ll never believe how simple these pretty little milk bottle vases were to make!
I started with some simple milk bottles that I picked up at Michaels – they were an absolute steal at 60% off, but honestly this project could work with any glass container, including a plain ol’ jar or bottle headed for the recycling bin.
I also picked up a few cans of spray paint in some fun colors. I was sure to choose a glossy finish paint, so that I ended up with an enamel sort of look.
Placing the bottles face down, I got to work layering on a few thin coats of paint in my favorite colors. The key word here is thin because if the coats of paint are too thick, they’ll start to drip down the sides creating awful marks that will only be highlighted by the glossy finish. Now, nobody wants that!
And my friends, here’s what I ended up with…
If you loved these simple little vases, I’d love for you to check out one of my very favorite vase projects to date – these DIY Frosted Glass Dollar Store Vases were not only easy to make, they cost less than $12 for the pair!
Wishing you SUCH a lovely weekend!

Hi Jodi! Thank you SO much for your sweet comment! We do have a ton of amazing thrift shops, though our crafting shops aren’t near as fun as those in the USA. Thanks again for your super sweet words, they totally made my day!

Wow those are so cute! They really would look great anywhere. Would the paint hold up outside, do you think? They would be cute porch decor!
Kristi says
Thanks Rachel! I’m so happy you love them! I’m not sure about the paint holding up outside, but on a porch they should be fine 🙂
